Western Europe is enough. I apologize for all the questions - I am used to TomTom. This device was thrown away - but after flashing "latest" :D 4.10 firmware it works and a friend can then still use it. So thank you very much once again! :)

On a FAT 32 formatted SD card create a folder called Garmin download the .img file and rename it gmapsupp.img and copy to the Garmin folder on the SD card

Update, works perfectly - I used "NT2025.10-Western Europe.img":

1. rename "NT2025.10-Western Europe.img" to "gmapsup1.img"
2. create folder on SD-Card "Garmin"
3. copy "gmapsup1.img" in the "Garmin" folder
4. place the SD-Card into the nüvi 250W
5. be patient around 20 seconds (it's an older slower device) - but then under "settings/maps" the new map will be available. Feel free to unselect the older on-device map to save the device some resources and you some time and only use the new map.

Sadly 2025.10 will be the last official NT map release from Garmin. But we'll see, maybe in 1+ year switching to OpenStreetMap will again grant some more life for the device and make a person happy.

@GarminNüvi - Thank you VERY MUCH, you rock!

You can use this handy tool [Please Register or Login to download file] to remove the old maps safely.
