Welcome to the forum.
You are just mixing up the two options. The gmap folder contains all the files for a PC so you can use Mapsource/Basecamp to plan trips etc.& create basic custom map sets.
The .img files & additional files are shared directly from various devices and are ready to use directly or on an SD card (recommended)

I find no .img files in City_Navigator_Europe_NTU_2024_10.gmap. I am using an SD with a nüvi 1350. In the past I have only copied existing gmap3d.img and gmapprom.img (with possibility of needing to rename a gmapsupp.img to gmapprom.img).

Fine if we have here a .gmap file only, but there are no clear instructions how to use it, and if one doesn't already know (which I don't), this post is kind of useless.

Welcome to the forum.
Firstly your nuvi 1350 was not designed to use these (NTU) Unicode maps but NT maps
A quick read of the previous posts and the Mapsource tutorial would make these latest NTU version files useful even if it wasn't the ones compatible with your device.

Hello,
My device is nuvi 3595.
This is my first time to download map file. I want to put the map files into SD card.
I have searched the process on the web, but still have many confusions.
There are many folders and files in download data. Which folders and files should copy into SD card? all save into the "Garmin" folder in SD card?
Which folder I shoud put the file "gmap3D.img" in SD card?
There have three types of jcv files, (212x234 Rsster), (212x234 SVG)Photoreal, and (353x390 Raster). Which one I should copy into SD card?

Hello,
my device is an nüvi 150T. How do I install the new map to my SD card? Previously I had to copy gmapprom.img file to /Garmin on my SD card. Now there are two gmapsupp.img files in the folders north and south. What do I have to do to get them to work?

Rename 1 to gmapsup1.img.
Try arranging the files on your SD card like this
Map/gmapsupp.img
Map/gmapsup1.img
Garmin/JCV/D6136180A.jcv
Garmin/JCV/D6166180A.jcv

Welcome to the forum.
Tell us what device you have as the newer devices will need to be Patched to use the already Unlocked maps you have downloaded.

Dependent on the specific model Montana series you will have to Patch the firmware to use these Unlocked maps, but newer series have encrypted firmware so there is no other option than this "simple" way: [Please Register or Login to download file]
You can use [Please Register or Login to download file] for example

Any change of having the JCV files available for Nuvi 13xx and 14xx.
Preparing my trip to Europe and would like to have my both Nuvi's up to date (Nuvi 1440 and Nuvi 66).
Thanks in advance.

Edit (17-05-2023): Just realized NTU maps are not compatible with the Nuvi 1440 (does not see them), so ignore the request for JCV files.
