Hello I try to install TomTom Android 1.4 APK + Europe Map 1040 + SpeedCams Included on my odroid C2 (Android 6.0.1) but how do that ?

For the moment I had do that:
0. Buy a TF card and format it like an external memory.
1. Download all parts.
2. Unpack.
3. Copy folder tomtom to your SD card.
4. Copy included .apk to your SD card.
5. Disable any internet connection by disconnect the wifi card.
6. Install the .apk
7. Launch the program. Let it load all it needs. Then close program.
8. Enable internet connection connect the wifi card.
9. Issue, tomtom unable to connect to server.

I have the same problem in Android 8.0
What can I do to fix it (or is 8.0 out of reach currently)?

So what happened (Android 8.0)
steps 1 - 5 no problem
6. "Install APK" - no problem
7. "Launch the program. Let it load all it needs. Then close program."
Program stops almost immediately with the message No network connection. Check settings and try again
8 "Turn on wifi / internet access and launch program"
Program stops with 'Unable to connect to TomTOm. Try again later'.

Works on Android up to 5

Get your device in Airplane Mode

Phone:
For installation on Android device:
Copy this tomtom folder on Device.
go into the Device, Open Device folder, then the tomtom folder,
and copy com.tomtom.xxxxx folder into this folder.
(In this folder tomtom/ )
For example:
tomtom/com.tomtom.europe.
Copy the APK file into your Android device, better into download folder.
Install APK File from your device, but not start it.
You must restarting your device before.
After restarting the device, open TomTom navigation program and Enjoy it.
Now you've done it..

Hello, I can confirme that tomtom 1.4 doesn't work on android 6.0.

I had downgrade my device to android 5.1 and tomtom works.

Extras questions:

1 - I search to add E85 fuel station into POI but it's difficult to find any file up to date.
2 - Is it possible to change the car icon by a custom ?

On classic tomtom you place your custom icon into art/cars folder.
Many choice here: [Please Register or Login to download file]
This file must be into .bmp

On android tomtom the file must be into .png.

I did it some years ago.
I don't remember the fine details.
I de-compiled the app.
I photographed the rear of my car and replaced the png files for an existing car icon.
I re-compiled the app.

For the future map, how can we upgrade the map.
For example when the map 1050 will be available, we must delete all previous setup or we can just replace the map folder ?

3 ways :-
1. Just add the new map folder.
2. Just replace the map folder.
3. Overwrite the contents of the map folder.

No 3 is my favorite as you keep all settings.
Before overwriting delete 3 files *.dct, *.meta & *.pna.
Ensure replacement map contains their replacements.
If you use speed cameras with sound it saves a tremendous amount of work.
You don't have to reinstall the cameras after updating the map.
You don't have to reinstall the app after updating the cameras.
