Hey there,

I've tried the install on a Galaxy Tab A. It's working well.

I had a little problem to see the .metada.xml file. So i've renammed it a.metadata.xml then i've changed again the name after copy into the tab.

I installed this on a Android 4.4 phone with the Italia maps but when the app is run it says it cannot connect to TomTom try again later. First time using the android version so not sure what the protocol is. I copied the contents into the android folder but it made no difference.

I tried this method -

1 Copy your map into same folder "tomtom" on the memory card SDcard\TomTom\
2 Run "....apk" and install the application.
3 That's all

to resolve "unable to connect to tomtom" issue just edit map's .metadata.xml
1. correcting the "url location" installation path, for example <url location="file://mnt/sdcard/tomtom/com.tomtom.australia"/>
2. and set size "0" in download tag <size>0</size>

But the xml file already contains this path.

i dont think this works if you have android version 6.0 marshmallow, i have a HTC m8 and as i recall after i updated from 5.1 lolipop, it stopped working...so no point trying it wont work...can you still use the 890.8306 uk and ireland map on a standalone tomrom unit like my xl ?

Yes you can and above 5.1 dont work
