Igo Primo 9.6.22.316005 for Nexus 4 UK Edition

I have, but I've found the pronunciation correction in Svox to be invaluable and last time I looked, Ivona didn't have that feature.

Ah, life's too short to bother with that, as far as I'm concerned.

Can this be done ?

Postby Cynderyn » Wed Aug 07, 2013 10:41 pm

Hi All

I now have a fully working version of this build working on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1

(Many thanks to the forum members support and the original member upload)

Can some one please answer the following query

Is it possible to use this build with some modifications of the files concerned with screen resolution to get this working on my Samsung S Advanced (GT-I9070) mobile phone

If so can someone please advise which files I need to modify and what modifications are required

Many Thanks

Cynderyn

It can be done. You need to modify the sys.txt. You need to find the resolution of your device and modify this line in the sys.txt
screen_xy="1024_768:1196x722/768x1138"

Change the numbers after the : to match your devices resolution and that should do it.

Hi Livingston

Thanks for info

Sorry not sure of correct syntax I note that there are 2 values after :
(1196x722/768x1138)

Given the quoted size and screen resolution of my mobile phone are 4" and 480x800 respectively

Can you please modify your example line in your reply to reflect my screen resolution so I can try it out

Many thanks

screen_xy="800_480:800x480/480x800"

But that will probably be sized incorrectly especially if you don't set Igo to full screen. You really need to download an app on your device called Screen Size, it will give you the precise numbers you need to put in the sys.txt

Hi Livingstone

Took your advice downloaded app to check resolution it confirmed it is 480x800.

I edited the line in sys.txt to your example but it does not work at moment :-(

When I click on shorcut it gives me

Loading Igo ....

Black screen

Then back to shortcut

I suspect it is trying to run the high resolution front intro screen image and cannot

Any suggestions on the way forward please :-)

Thanks

I'd suggest trying a different version of Igo, one made for 800x480 devices as this one is quite heavily customised for 1280x720.

Hi Livingstone

Thanks for taking time out to reply

Totally agree with you advise

I have downloaded a 800x400 base version and copied your content into it and it seems to work OK

I have a TOM-TOM GPS installed in the car and also purchased the Sygic Android GPS UK ROI for my phone and tablet but I prefer the IGO Android software

Its a pity you cannot purchase the android software and have to rely on the good will of others to upload the content

Personally I find it very confusing with the number of different base versions available, the amount of apparent redundant licences in the licence folders and the different content maps buildings etc.

Hopefully one day we will be able to buy a UK ROI Android version with all the UK content installed

Regards

Cynderyn

Hi Lupas1, I haven't been to Ireland so I haven't tested TMC there. I do know for a fact that it works on the mainland UK though so I can't see why it wouldn't work for ROI. There is only one server that Igo pulls the TMC data from so it should be no different for ROI than for England. I have a TMC folder under the content folder and it does have files that relate to Ireland so I'd say you need it.
Sorry to hear it's giving you problems, but apart from adding the licenses posted above I don't really have any other suggestions as to how to fix it, sorry.

Hi Livingstone
thanks for ur quickly respond, but of course, you right, in my Igo Navi i see TMC-HTTP traffics on UK and NI area only,
so i think all Ok with maps, licenses etc.. traffics are loading just in few seconds after run IGO, also dedicated license
are ready for ROI as well: "NavOn Primo PNA HU-R-CZ WEU@09Q4 (NQ, DEM, POI, TMC-Ireland, 3DLM, PSL, JuncV) Content SD #3.lyc"
the problem i think is with broadcasting data in ROI area or maybe something else we don't know what at the moment,
hopefully it starting shortly or soon,

BIG THANKS again and regards

Hi Livingstone.

I followed your directions and have Primo2 9.6.22.316005 working fine on my Nexus 4 even though I am not in the UK.

Funniest thing though is whenever I do a FIND for an address or place the SPACE behaves weirdly.
It is not selectable as the first letter (as you would expect) and then is available for the
second letter however if pressed it does not work. In any case, it is then never selectable for
subsequent letters in the search text, so addresses such as "New York" cannot be searched for!

Any idea why? Am I missing something obvious?

Any help appreciated.

Ian
