iGO TTS pro voices for US (need Help)

Postby pydipala » Thu Dec 19, 2013 9:49 pm

Hi,

I have Samantha, Ira, Paris, Penelope TTS pro voices. When I'm using these voices for WinCE, they work fine. But when I try to use those voices in ANDROID v 4.3 (Samsung S3) it is not working.
I tried to change "tts_engine="nuance_v5" to "tts_engine="android" But after replacing the files iGO is not loading . It is giving "Unfortunately, iGO has stopped." error.
I really don't know how to work with that.

So please let me know if any one changed these files for ANDROID. I really appreciate your great help.

I need TTS Pro Voice for US atleast for 1 lang (Samantha). please change it for ANDROID.

You know I've messed with those for the past few days and cannot for the life of me get them to work. I've compared from other tts voices that work from other countries, tried matching up the settings with zero luck. I have the same exact issue. If I don't change anything, Igo opens but won't let me select it. I try changing the engine and it crashes before it loads.

I tried your download - Samantha does work for me, the other three do not. They show up but I can't select them.

From my experience on my phone iGO on a Galaxy S3 uses the phones TTS engine.
The TTS installed in iGO just acts as a conduit or an activation file.

So first fix or replace the TTS file for iGO.
Next go into the phone's settings.
Setting - Language and input - Text-to-speech output - choose a TTS engine.
For example I have Google Text-to-speech and Samsung TTS.
Click the now highlighted settings cog - choose a language.
You'll need to look though the settings and choose the options that work best for you.
But in the end iGO will use the voice and language you choose in the phone settings, the file in iGO only allows TTS to work.

Hope that helps out.
