After acquiring an Android phone (Samsung Galaxy S2 with ICS) I thought i'd share my experiences with navigation applications...
Instructions...
1, On your phone, Go to... Settings -> Applications and make sure Unknown Sources is checked.
2, Download the archives from below and extract onto your PC, transfer the apk's and any folders to your phone using whatever method works for you, Pay attention to the instructions as some folders/files must go in certain locations otherwise the install will fail.
3, Using a file explorer on your phone, (I recommend ES File Explorer, free from the market) Click on the apk and allow it to install, but don't open it yet.
4, Exit back to the home screen.
5, According to the instructions provided, either connect to a wifi network. (Important! typically more than 500MB of data will be downloaded, and for some apps this must be over wifi!) or disable all data connections, Not flight mode!
6, Start the app, follow any on-screen instructions about downloading maps, wait for a lock and off you go...
Notes: Sygic will nag you for an email address and password to either login or create an account, I used a junk email address, No email was ever sent to it, Also Sygic likes to have an active data connection for traffic updates etc, even if you disable these features, if no data connection is available it still complains...
With all the apps stay out of any registration/activate/in-app purchase options as it may undo the crack.
