Primo 9.6.7.281004 Complete UK package For Nexus 4 or 7 with

Postby Booce » Wed Apr 10, 2013 8:38 am

This is the UK special of Igo Primo for Android 9.6.7.281004 thin for Nexus 4 or 7. It's been put together from many different sources (thanks to all the people who cracked, created content or posted maps used here!) and is designed especially for but not restricted to Nexus 4 and 7 devices. Note that it'll probably be good for any 1280x800 device. It has been tested on a Samsung Galaxy S2 as well.

Features include:

Gurjon-Arine Skin 1.9v5 Working, modified to have standard speedcam icons and to work on Nexus.

A 1280x800 data.zip

Choice of Branding files, one standard one and one that contains Logo'd icons and doubles the resolution on screen

UK Histspeed (United_Kingdom_NQ_15_2011.Q3_120314)

2012 Q4 Navteq maps for England and Ireland with buildings, POI's, speed data and Driver Alerts files

All relevant licenses including updated TMC licenses (January 2013)

TTS Pro voice files (You'll still need a decent Android TTS to use it though, I recommend SVOX)

Latest global.cfg (287925)

Latest Mobile and Fixed speedcam databases for the UK (March 2013).

3d Petrol Station buildings

In short, if you live in the U.K. and have a hires device (preferably a Nexus 4 or a Nexus 7), this package has everything you need.

Instructions:

Download and unpack to your SD card or devices' storage.

Rename the sysnexus4.txt or the sysnexus7.txt to just sys.txt. Obviously, rename the one named after your device.

Run the iGO Primo 9.6.7.281004_thin_1.0_JB_sound_fix_IMEI_sys_not_changed.apk (not scan IMEI).apk on your device.

If you want the hires branded icons, rename branding.zip to something else then rename brandinghiresicons.zip to branding.zip.

Run the app.

Note that on first run, it may have the buttons off screen. Simply exit and then rerun it and it should all line up nicely. Also note that I like to run with the notification bar visible. If you want Igo to be full screen, edit the sys.txt. You will find a line under [rawdisplay] that has a ; at the beginning and a :fullscreen at the end of it. Remove the ; at the beginning of the line and put it in front of the line below. Save the sys.txt. This will make Igo take up the full screen leaving no notification bar.

Speedcams will not show up until you have had a working GPS lock at least once!

Note that everyone else did the hardwork e.g. titisoim, Sylar/jetmouse, Gurjon, arimi @ Neoss75 and assorted others. All I've done is gather up all their goodness and put it in to a package suitable for Nexus and other hires devices for UK users.

You need to choose which POI's you want to show up from within Igo.

Glad you got it all sorted out and working as you like it. That's the great thing about Igo you can get it just how you want it. Out of interest, how did you fix your POI problem in case anyone else has the same issue?

problem was not in the poi, but in me.
I'm not in the options igo, in settings maps, included placemarks.
if igo is perpendicular then I do not see a placemark.
when I put the smartphone landscape, there were options for labels placemarks.aftert that I joined them and it works.

Thanks Booce - sounds good.

If being used on an Android 1289*800 device but its not a nexus (just ordered one and it'll be a couple of weeks before I see it), would either of the sys files work? - and if so, which - any would be thoughts appreciated.

Ok, this package will work on any android device but you will need to adjust the sys.txt to reflect the device's resolution. To do this accurately and with least pain, download the app Screen Size from the play store. Run it in portrait mode and take a note of the application windows size. Now rotate the screen to landscape and again note the application window size. Now edit the sys.txt on your PC and replace the screen_xy="your resolutions here" and put the numbers you noted from the screen size app in between the quotes. Copy the new sys.txt to the igo folder on your device and you should have a perfect fit. Between the quotes it's portrait size first then landscape size.

If you wish to enjoy the amazing GJ skin with it, you'll also need to put the same values in the igo\content\skin\gj*.zip. Open the skin from your PC with Winrar and edit the info.ini. Add your values to the the line supported_resolutions="your res here". Save it and when winrar asks to update the archive say yes. Now copy the updated skin file to your device igo\content\skin and enjoy the best sat nav on the planet at this time.

That all looks complicated but it's actually quite easy. Make sure you edit the files on your PC and then copy them over and not your on phone as it won't normally let you directly edit them.

Enjoy!

Thanks Booce.

I tried various versions of Primo on my new tablet, and all gave me errors apart from this one - which installed and ran with no fiddling about with any files.

Now I ust need to find a 1280x800 version of the diMKaWA Skin

Booce.

When I installed this on my tablet I did not transfer a modified sys.txt to the sd card, and was surprised to find that after installing the apk the program ran without it.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the way that Primo works on Android (this being my first tablet) but I thought that the sys.txt is normally created and stored in a systems directory unless the 'thin' installer is used, which then uses the SD card directory for the sys.txt.

Am I missing something ??

Peweuk, You're quite right about the sys.txt but in this version a highly customised sys.txt is already included in the package and it will install and use the included one. It should still create one in the igo folder on your device though and I'm a bit confused as to why you're not seeing one. I'm not certain that this version of the apk is the thin one so that may account for it. Saying that, I have a sys.txt in my igo folder and if I modify it the program does take note of the changes so you can put one in there and see if it works.

Is there a particular setting you are missing? I can modify the sys.txt inside the apk and repackage it for you if it's something you really need.

As to the dimka skin, have you tried editing the info.ini in the one you have to include our resolution? Below is the entry I use in the gj skin, try replacing what's in your dimka skin's info.ini with this and see if it shows up.

supported_resolutions="1280_800,800_1280,1280_755,800_1235,1280_752,800_1232,1280_736,800_1205,1280_720,1280_703,800_1172,1280_674,720_1234,720_1280,1280_670,720_1230,1200_670,720_1134,960_540,540_960,960_502,540_922,888_540,540_888,854_480,480_854,480_762,800_442,480_800,800_480,800_448,480_768,800_435,800_440,480_755,480_760,800_432,480_752,740_440,480_710,1024_552,600_976,768_1184,1196_768,1280_752,800_1232,1280_755,1024_768,768_1024,1024_600,600_1024,1280_750,800_1230,800_444,480_764,800_425,480_745,1184_670,720_1184,1184_720,768_1184,1196_768,1196_722,768_1138,1024_768,800_480"

Hope that helps.
