Looking at the language files I have in my folder, the keyboard.ini file in all of them is EMPTY. I do have 2 keyboards for English (ABC,QWERTY), 2 for Hebrew and 1 for Arabic. No keyboards for Russian and Serbian. Where are they coming from?

I found that the Lang_French.zip contains an empty keyboard.ini file as well.

I copied the following lines into it (was copies from my Primo data.zip/common/keyboard.ini):
[panel]
name= "Français"
layer= "ui_kbd_national"
layout= "12_12_12_9"
keys= "¤1234567890¤¤azertyuiop¤¤qsdfghjklm¤¤wxcvbn¤¤ "
shiftkeys= "¤1234567890¤¤AZERTYUIOP¤¤QSDFGHJKLM¤¤WXCVBN¤¤ "
altkeys= "€!%#'(&=-@)_àÀâÂèÈéÉêÊëËôÔùÙûÛüÜ?./+îÎïÏçÇ,;: "
lang= "french,french CAN"
label= "à/!"
shiftlabel= "aA"
altlabel= "1az"
type=3
family=1

The option of French keyboard was grayed.
** "¤" is for empty/hidden key.

After reading nabi's tutorial, I decided to give it another try.

OK, I have a French keyboard, but I don't like the way it looks, I need to play with the layout. I'll look for a picture of a real keyboard.

Will be continued later at night...

Thank you very much filesupload100 for your help and patience ;)
In a meanwhile, I have not been idle. I installed this skin [Please Register or Login to download file] , which include branding.zip, data.zip, Lang_French_DT_Android, Voice_TTS-Android_DreamTeam and Voice_TTS-Android_DreamTeam_++. I tested it, I can get almost all keyboards Hebrew included.

Unfortunately, still the street names on the Israeli map are displayed in Latin characters.

Here the skin download [Please Register or Login to download file]

Well, I added the French keyboard to the "Lang_French.zip" for Primo.
Can someone please check if it's working well? I can't check it since I'm not using France map, so all special characters not showing on keyboard.

Hi filesupload100,
Sorry for the delay, but Navitotal wasn't works on friday and yesterday I was out.
I gave a try to yr Lang_French.zip, it works just fine ;)

Still the street names on the Israeli map are displayed in Latin characters.
With all iGO 8.3.xx version regarding the Israeli map, no matter what main language is in use, since the keyboard is Latin, the street names are in Latin. And if the keyboard in use is Hebrew, so the the street names are in Hebrew. It seems that this option is no longer valid. Isn't it?

I tested it a few minutes ago with iGO 8.3.5.183522.
When program language is English US, and keyboard is Hebrew. Street names shown in Latin.
When program language is Hebrew, and keyboard is English. Street names shown in Hebrew.
When program language is Hebrew, and keyboard is Hebrew. Street names shown in Hebrew (obviously).

Can you tell what version works like you describe? Can you upload it to a free host, so I take a look into it?

Hi,

Here bellow, you'll find screenshot of my PNA Mio Moov S505 (WinCE 5.0) running iGO 8.3.5.186522. As you can see, the language is French and the street names are in Hebrew.
Anyway I'm uploading the app iGO8 itself as it is in my Mio (350 MB) French map and tts_loq excluded.

[Please Register or Login to download file]
Due to the siez (350 MB), let me know when you finish downloading then I can delete it to save space in my host.

Please run it first as it is before modifying any.
Regards

I loaded the same version as you are using, iGO 8.3.5.183522. It is chas521's version, set up to use in the USA, with US English program language.
I only moved the Israel map into it, and created a route, using Hebrew keyboard.
The streets on the map are in English.

When I changed the program language to Hebrew, the street names are in Hebrew (obvious).

When I started the program for the first time, I had to set it up, since no "save" folder was inside. The screens I went through were different from recent versions, so I thought that this is a matter of dufferent/newer versions.
Now, after I tested it, I realize that both of you (you and chas521) are using Mio. So, maybe it's a matter of the device...

You can trust me or not, I've used a several Chinese GPs as well as HTC Diamond Smartphone. This option always works on iGO8.
Moreover this option tested works since middle of 2008 on iGO8 8.3.2.64029, iGO8_8.3.2.93112, iGO8 v8.3.4.142975, iGO8 v8.3.5.193799

Also, on the same Mio device I've installed a multi GPS launch prog, so, I can launch iGO8 as well as Primo 1.2 and Primo 2.1. The streets name hebrew option always works on iGO8 but NOT on Primo x.

What about the "Languages, voices, speedcams" sub-forum?
No changes since my last update (25/3/2014).
