Primo Android 9.6.7

@Yurbuh Tuggly

1. Could please give us instruction what exactly mean options from UI lab? I understand some of them but for others when i turn them on nothing happen.

2. What are from "Alert Point Settings":
- Community Alert Points
- Provider Alert Points

I have those two unchecked and i would like to know for what they are. Because it is nothing happen when i turn them on.

3. I installed MiniSkin_v1.3 from your topic and i say the skin is awesome when i compare with the original one. But now i get a problem. When i am on a map and click menu > Route alternatives > then it shows me i other country about 1000km air line of my position. How to fix this to show me above my spot?

p.s. what skin do you use? Probably you tested a lot of them.

4. What is tmc folder?

5. In this folder content\user data\poi\ i have all separately pois for my country but in this one content\poi\ there is to poi file for my country but only in one file. I think the first one is from poiplaza.com. But it is very vast when i have all those files and there are 225 files. I download iGO from one guy from my country he already put some files which he thinks it is useful. Do you think it is better to use only official poi and to remove those one. Because i do not know will i get some error and to confuse iGO because i have on two places pois.

6. In user data there is folder "mydest" for what is this folder?

I am sorry if this too much questions. I just installed 10 days ago iGO primo (latest ver) and i want to learn more about it and to use maximum of it.

1)/2) It is beyond the scope of this topic thread to TEACH you every option and what it does. None of it relates specifically to Android Primo, but Primo in general. You can research and read up on all options/menu choices, or ask specific questions here:
General-Discussions-about-iGO-core
Most people (myself included) learn as they go. Try different things...if they do nothing or not what you expect, then you probably do not need that option.
3) "Route Alternatives" are only for additional options AFTER you have set a route. You cannot have an alternative to something that does not yet exist. So it probably flies you off somewhere because it has nothing to start from. Ignore that option for now.
I test different skins all the time. Currently testing one not listed yet, but in general I prefer the raf04 Mini-Skin 1.3 and GjAk v1.0 so far.
4) The TMC folder is for any special Premium TMC licenses you may acquire in the future, but it is not necessary for everybody to have anything in there.
5) I use one POI file for each country..usually comes with a map set. To assemble your own is tedious and not necessarily as good. And yes, you could create conflicts.
6) No idea. I have no such folder. If somebody put it there for you, maybe they can tell you.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

I am not sure did i understand this part. You told me to find answers in General-Discussions-about-iGO-core or to search there? I look for 10 pages and i did not find nothing similar about those options in iGO primo.

And please could you share your sys.txt from IGO primo with us?

THIS thread is not for "general questions" unless they specifically relate exclusively to the Android version.
Maybe you are new to Primo and don't realize that, once installed (yes, the installation and setup of the Android version is vastly different), it is so similar to the WinCE version that it could be called identical.
So if you go to the iGo General Discussion forum section and post a question like:
"In Primo 2, what are all the UI Labs/Extra Settings options and what do they do?"
Then many people who have been using Primo for a long time will be able to answer a general question like that!

There is nothing 'special' about my sys.txt...it is exactly the same that is generated during the install ...the same as yours, probably. I specifically modified/designed the install that way...so that needing to edit sys.txt becomes a thing of the past for most people in most situations.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Can the Grand Compass be added to Primo?

Postby NRT » Sat Sep 22, 2012 5:18 am

Is it possible to add the Grand Compass to Primo Android without a skin the same as it can be in the wince version?

Possible?
Probably..I have played with the independent UX files a bit (not a lot) but had no success yet. I'm missing something probably simple.
In the meantime, I just used a skin where it was built in. But currently running the 'official' diMka skin (which traditionally avoids the Grand Compass), so I will probably play with it some more. If successful, I will add to the first post. If anybody else has a clue and got it working, please share here!
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

Would be nice to add the "night color filter" as well.
Have you seen: [Please Register or Login to download file] couldn't get it to work properly.

Yes. Tried it and only resulted in corrupting the skin making it invisible to Primo. Besides, even if it worked, that's the HARD way. Using the UX(.zip) files must be possible, but there also must be a trick to it I have not discovered yet. Simply renaming ui_igo9 to ui_android within the zip does not work. Have not yet tried extracting directly to (iGo)\ui_android folder (where custom POI and other things work), so I probably will when I get some time.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

There is always a 'chance'...but what you may need to find is a modified data.zip that someone has made (since the official one only supports 480x800) for the resolution of your device. And then be able to edit sys.txt in order to use it correctly.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.

hello,

I have a Galaxy S2, android 4.04 original firmware, non`rooted device....and i can`t seem to manage to install igo , although i`ve tried every step and solution offered by this thread. The installation stops after language select and crashes to the main screen, without any notification message or anything.
I`ve tried the modified .apk along with the primo kit offered at the beginning of the thread with no result. Please help ! Thx :)

Do a complete uninstall as described in the first post, then try the attached APK.
It is one of the latest from luboz and has been reported to solve problems for some people in some situations.
Note that I have not edited, modified, 'improved', or even looked at this APK...I only offer it as a possible solution for you specifically.
Make sure that the SD folder is named iGO and that you have little running in the background. Start with no maps or other added content except for the basemap.fbl.

tried the .apk and retraced my steps ....firstly, it seems no to fit the screen...but anyhow, the crash problem persists...if you have any other solutions i`m willing to try them ! thx :)
