1. Download all parts of your area.
2. Unpack anywhere.
3. Copy folder "tomtom" to your SD card.
4. Copy included .apk to your SD card.
5. Disable any internet connection in your phone (Put it into Airplane Mode)
6. Install the .apk
7. Launch the program. Let it load all it needs. Then close program.
8. Enable internet connection.
9. Enjoy!

didn't work for me with all this info. I have galaxy tab pro 8.4, non rooted.

If you mean the tablet memory , then I don't have enough space on it, but I put the folder and apk in the external sd

Same here. I get "no network connection" error's when I turn on the app while being in flight-mode. I can press either "try again" or "exit". Does anyone know a solution?

This is a standard error report when the app can't find your map files.

This app doesn't need Internet, WIFI or SIM.

It's normally best up to Gingerbread if the file format is :-
tomtom\......\files\.metadata.xml
tomtom\......\files\......\cline.dat

It's normally best with KitKat and Lollipop if the file format is :-
Android\Data\......\files\.metadata.xml
Android\Data\......\files\files\......\cline.dat

The relative position of all files and folders to each other is the same.

Well, I just placed both files in my root directory of my SD Card.

I use marshmallow but I'm not really sure if I understand your instruction.

According to you I am supposed to move the TomTom folder from my SD root directory to the internal memory of my phone - specifically the Android\Data\ folder - is that correct?

I'm also not sure what you mean with "\......\"?

OK, I obviously do something wrong. I just copied the map folder to any possible folder you described above (internal and SD -> each andoid/data/ folder). I also downloaded a new European version and get the same error so it must be an error on my side.

In the European version in its tutorial there is a .metadata file mentioned. I don't see any metadata anywhere. You also mentioned a meta file. Where can I find and download one? I also have a tomtom navigation device and on that one it's pretty easy. All I have to do is downloading FastActivate.exe and run it. But how do I solve the meta problem with an Android device?

The dots are to indicate where there are differences between the apps for different countries.
Sorry I should have made it clearer.

The .metadata.xml file is a hidden file, just make sure your file manager is set to view hidden files.

I've never heard of anybody having any success with this app in Marshmallow.
I've heard of many failures and a few have said it can't be done.

thank you for the info. I'll try it a few more times and if it still doesn't work I guess I'll have to wait for a Marshmallow version.

OK, I figured out what the error was. I use Mac OS and to transfer files I must use "Android File Transfer". The Android File Transfer App doesn't transfer hidden files. So I had to send it via email to my phone and move it to the right folder. I can imagine many other Mac users had the same problem.

So I just moved the Europe meta file to the right folder and don't get the Internet error message anymore but therefor the app crashes while loading. Trying the USA map now - the one I actually need. Let's see if that works.
