I have copied the tomtom folder to sd card root and the .apk file. After installation it says that cannot connect to tomtom server. The same happen if I copy the .apk file to internal memory! May be the tomtop server has been desactivated?

No, what that means is the app is not recognizing where the data is on your device.
If installed properly and the data is in the correct place, no connection is attempted.
Where the APK is after the install is irrelevant...it is not used after that and can even be deleted.
If the path is not mnt/sdcard/tomtom/com.tomtom.* you may have issues.
On many Android phones (the majority) the path to the SD Card is mnt/sdcard. On some devices, it is not.
For any device where the path to the SD Card is not mnt/sdcard, you will need a modified APK that includes other paths that the original from TomTom does not.

This is not up to me but Pawel_1980 (above my post) as this is his mod apk's and he can post them if he agrees ....... sorry

That may mean that, at some point a license check occurred by having data or wifi enabled when starting the App. All of my current installs (4 of them) still work as of one minute ago. It could also mean (assuming as you say that everything worked before) that the SD Card data has become corrupted somehow and is not being recognized by the app as being 'complete'.

Hi, after following you instructions to move it to mnt/sdcard/tomtom/com.tomtom.*, i now have uk/ire working fullscreen on a galaxy note with 1280 x 800 screen
my first attempt installing it on external sdcard wanted to connect to tomtom server at startup and wouldnt go any further.

That it is able to run at that resolution is certainly a pleasant surprise.
I don't have any 'high res' devices to test on, but from what I have read from others, most are not successful. Maybe it is highly device-dependent in that way...OK for some, and definitely not for others.

I am trying to install this on a Samsung Galaxy S2 , it has installed ok but it keeps trying to connect and then shuts down, if i have read this thread correctly i should change this

you need a special modded apk that for other storage ...... ask Pawel_1980 and he will most probably upload his apk's for all countries.
