Instructions

1. Download all parts of your area.
2. Unpack anywhere.
3. Copy folder "tomtom" to your SD card.
4. Copy included .apk to your SD card.
5. Disable any internet connection in your phone (Put it into Airplane Mode)
6. Install the .apk
7. Launch the program. Let it load all it needs. Then close program.
8. Enable internet connection.
9. Enjoy!

Yes it will work, try first to copy tomtom folder to internal memory instead of MicroSd and run the app

Did you installed the apk in offline mode yes ?

With all internet connections off ?

Didn't work on my Z1 compact either. Installed it in offline mode. Tried to install with tomtom folder on internal storage. Keeps saying "Can't connect to TomTom. Try again later."

If you add root on your phone im prety sure that will work, my tablet as root

My phone is rooted. Doesn't seem to matter.

I found a solution to this problem in an older version.

But the (hidden) metadata.xml file doesn't seem to exist in this version so can't try it with this one
Adding that file and changing it doesn't help either.

following this post, I found a way to make it work:

So here are the steps in a "for dummies" way:

• Open Notepad
• Paste the following:

  </santorinicontent>

  
  Please note the "w" for west-europe version!
• Save as metadata.xml
• Open "cmd" (Press "WIN+R", then type "cmd" and press enter)
• [navigate to the path you saved the metadata.xml] type: "move metadata.xml .metadata.xml"
  (note that it has a "." in the beginning of the file... don't try to do it in windows explorer, it won't work!!)
• now move the ".metadata.xml" to (...)\tomtom\com.tomtom.weurope\
• copy the tomtom folder to your phone memory, and it will work

10. move folder "files" and file ".metadata.xml" from sdcard1\tomtom\com.tomtom.europe
to sdcard1\Android\data\com.tomtom.europe\files\
11. delete folder "sdcard1\tomtom"
12. modify ".metadata.xml"
replace
<url location="file://mnt/sdcard/tomtom/com.tomtom.europe"/> by
<url location="file://mnt/sdcard1/tomtom/com.tomtom.europe"/>
----> (the sdcard1 variable can be different depending on the device!)
13. Launch the program
