Have this app working great on my android. Is there a way of getting a notification when near a speed camera? Cant seem to find an option for it.

Yes .. been there .. done that .. still needs to be on the PHONE in my case

Uninstalled the App .. cleared data .. rebooted .. copied all to sdcard .. re-installed 1.3.2
and the same 'unable to connect error'

MOVED it to the Phone and hey presto it works right away.
In my case I have the room so not an issue just frustrating not to be able to find out WHY and fix it!!!!!

Only the app itself can create the files on the sd card in its own private directory which android creates, if you put the files on yourself then it's not owned by the tomtom application so it can't write or modify any files, so therefore it doesn't work.

If you're rooted you can change the policies so it does work.

Sounds logical to me but the old rule applies .. 'a little knowledge can be dangerous' .. with me

anyway .. used the app manager and 'moved' it to the SDCard and it is now at peace with the world and ME!

Thanks for the 'heads up', all I need now is to find where I can get an injection of instant knowledge in these matters
