Hi Guys
finally bit the bullet and installed Primo on my Nexus 7, downloaded from this site. After finally resolving the TTS situation with help from YT's excellent thread on the matter I find that I am tearing what little hair I have left in trying to resolve the correct resolution. Again, with YT's helpful post a few months back I have tried to alter the sys.txt to no avail, I tried Chas's revised Data.zip and Branding.zip, again no luck. Has anybody resolved this problem yet or am I stuck with using Primo in portrait mode?
Thanks, and enjoying a great period of weather here in the UK at the moment!!

I used the Google Play sotre version here from the forum and played endless hours with the sys.txt...
The stuff works, however the quick menu will always be visible, in both portrait and landscape mode.
I managed to find suitable zip's and can use any TTS voice installed on my Android.
So, if you give a bit more details it should be no problem to get you going too ;)
a) what data- branding.zip are you using and what resolutions are fully supported in them?
b) what is inside your sys.txt?
c) what is the exact problem in your landscape mode?

Hi Downunder35m
thanks for the reply. My problem is that in landscape mode the bottom menu bar is cut off, portrait mode is perfect so I know that the resolution I'm looking for 1280x800 is not supported. I've tried using data.branding.zip from chas521 but this does not work, I too have been playing with sys.txt and have come up with this in the relevant section
[rawdisplay]
driver=engine
;screen_xy="auto"
;;;Nexus7
;screen_xy="1280_800:1280x703/800x1172"
;;;HTC One X
;screen_xy="1280_800:1196x670/720x1134"
still no joy, so I have reverted back to the original branding.data zips.
Perhaps I'm doing something wrong here or have overlooked something very simple as is often the case so any help would be very appreciated
Thanks

Well, after all the experimenting I only left this in my sys.txt for the display:
[rawdisplay]
driver=engine
screen_xy="auto"
So it all comes down to the data.zip and there I use a 1200x800 pixel one.
All the settings for a "forced" resolution won't work on a Nexus due to the OS limitations - at least that was the info when I stopped trying.
But it works just fine in both modes.
What are the available resolutions inside your data.zip?
Open archive, check foled ui_android, you should find a folder "1200_800" in there and size of the full archive should be about 48mb.

Hi again
resolutions supported are 1280x703 and 800x1172 as per original Branding,Data zips as the download suggested. I did try as mentioned Branding.Data zips supplied by Chas521 which did contain 128x800 resolution files but this did not work, in fact with these files installed and modified sys.txt
[rawdisplay]
driver=engine
;screen_xy="auto"
screen_x=1280
screen_y=800
screen_x2=800
screen_y2=1280
screen_xy="1280_800:1280x800/800x1280:fullscreen"
as supplied by YT a while back just didn't want to load saying it couldn't find the skin. Have tried all combinations with no luck, would be interested to know which Branding.Data.zips you use as obviously they are the ones to use.
Thanks again

You can find a working backup from my device
[Please Register or Login to download file] .
Simply overwrite your setup with it and check again, assume you also use the Playstore version.

Hi again Downunder
trying to download those files but it seems like a minefield, hosting site consistently giving wrong steers and trying to get me to sign up, something I will not do after having been stung badly in the past. Thanks anyway for trying to help. will look out on the forum if anybody has resolved the problem until then I will continue to use portrait mode although prefer landscape.
Thanks again

Just use Jdownloader and copy the link into the clipboard, JD will do the rest and prompt you for all ;)

Hi again,
what a saga this is! My apologies for boring other users on this forum. Downloaded Jdownloader, followed the link, went through the process, passwords etc. and I find that it tells me that the file is offline and an error message. It also is telling me if I want to add to Flash Player from an external link, now I know that my Flash Player is up to date so I click no. Is this stopping me downloading the file or is there some other reason.
Thanks

I've sent you a direct link.

Thanks again, have also sent you a PM

You should try to overwrite all files not just parts of it.
I had similar problems in the beginning but with the playstore version and the changes it works here now fine.
So it must be possible to get the same result on your device.

Have tried absolutely everything and still no luck, the only thing I can think of is that I have a different version to you as the opening and exiting screens are different to mine, the version I have was downloaded from this forum and was labelled Google Play. Never mind, I'll keep on playing with it and let you know how I get on
Thanks again

Weird...

Yes, weird. One obvious thing I haven't tried which I have just thought of is uninstalling my present setup and reinstalling with your SD Card folder, will try that later on today and let you know how I get on
