Audi RNS-E 2011

I have burned the RNS-E 2011 on 2 DVD+R DL and got no error message when burning. When I put the DVD in to the navigation I've got the message "place dvd"
What is going wrong here? The dvd was already in the navigationplayer.

I am no expert in this, but I see 2 possiblities:

One

It's possible your navigation DVD reader is broken - that means you should change the lens, or the RNS-E.

Two

I believe there should be a list of "recommended writers" supplied in the downloaded. These I think :

This list is there for a reason ! When your burner is not on that list, there is no guarantee the DVD will be recognized.
Also Verbatim DVD+R DL DVD are recommended.

As to burning software, Alcohol120% and Imgburn seem to give good results. Burn at a low speed !!!

you must use a specified burner with firmware and a +RDL preferably verbatim and make sure the book type is set to DVD ROM
