Hi Fellow VW lovers!


I have a 2013 Touareg with a DNS-850 Navigation system. I would like to update the maps but cannot get a straight answer for any dealer here in MN other than one and I was not happy with the answer.


On the vw.parts.com website, there are two items that you can by that are V7 update for the RNS-850. One is an activation document and the other is a Map SIM Card. Both are different prices. I'm told by one dealer that I have to by the activation item and then they buy the maps and install it for me for $75.00. In total over $400 just to update my maps.


No CD update like I am use to with my previous VW's.


Any thoughts or options? I am not going to pay them $75 to do it when I should be able to do it myself like before. I should not pay more because VW does not want people to share updates.
