It's best to have a connection before driving.
What you should know is that signal strength will vary based on many factors: clouds rain, trees, buildings, etc.
My problem to better answer your question is that I have no Becker device and Becker iGO may differ a lot from normal iGO (looks, functionality (where are in the menu is ...)). Besides, my resolution don't fit Beckers build, so I can't even simulate it.
Try to find in your menu the GPS screen, On that screen, click settings, on the next screen, disable gps, wait a second or 5, enable gps.
One thing, when the GPS receiver is found, but no satellite lock can be accomplished, then possibly the settings are wrong, the COM port is correct, but not the baudrate.
In system.ini file, which is located in the save folder, the port and baud that is set, can be found. Thus my question. I think you deleted the save folder, but made a copy.
Also, did you make a backup before you did follow my advices in the other thread? Then you can not only refind the port and baud set by the update, but compare also to the original (this one should be the only correct one)
Finally: Did you make any changes to sys.txt?
