Bug on this site

Postby jokskot » Sun Oct 31, 2010 11:30 am

Am I alone in recently finding some bug with this site which spontaneously causes it to open a site with the title "China TV"?

I'm running Windows 2000 and Firefox 3.6. No problems noted with any other site which I visit regularly.

Could it be an ad?
I haven't seen "China TV" yet.
Or could it be you have malware?

I have been facing a similar issue. I was being redirected to China TV a few minutes ago. On other days it has been random sites (I did not make note of them, but will now). I'm also scanning for Malware right now with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware which runs on my PC 24x7

It's rogue adverts, A well known UK forum (Digital spy) had exactly the same problem a while ago.

I had this type of prob a few days ago - but I have WOT (Web Of Trust) as an addon to Firefox and as soon as I see a red circle I close the window, don't even wait for the "do you really want to go here... type question". Kept happening every time I went to a thread, even the stickies. Closed the new window and back to where I wanted to go. As you say though, only on this site which was a bit odd.

Then, got wind of an urgent need to upgrade Firefox due to some dodgy security events recently. Did an update availability check, there was one, did it and no probs since.

So, if you're using Firefox, check to see if there's an update availale.

I am a member of a motorhome web site.Last week I posted links to this site on that forum but after a day I had to remove the links as people were saying that the site was full of trojan horses and malware and that their virus scanners would not let them go to the site ????.

The link is:

[Please Register or Login to download file]

It is not a simple pop-up whichy can be closed. I find the only way to get rid of it is to close the browser.

It does not appear to occur when I've logged in, only when I'm browsing before log-in

Thanks and Regards J

I apologize for the inconvenience and will try to find where these adverts come from.

So If I understand, sometime you click on a forum or on a thread link and you are redirected to an external link who contain trojans or virus or fake antivirus etc... ?

Are you sure you are not clicking on ads? And then this ad redirect you to this site X or Y?

Thanks to all and please let me know.

I can confrm that if you go to your site without being a member it instanly diverts you to other pages and the virus checker goes mad.
If you go to your site with auto log on we have no problem.

That is strange because since 2 days I try as guest and members to get this "advert" and nothing...
And strange again because you say:
- '''if you go to your site without being a member it instanly diverts you to other pages'''
- ''If you go to your site with auto log on we have no problem'''
The Guest and Members see the same ads, so that mean if it's a malware ad, the members as the guests must be able to see it...

I am watching...Thanks to all for your feedbacks!
