The last two days I've been trying to get online traffic working again now that it's not crashing the unit like it was before. I've been getting erratic performance with my GPS ever since. Today, it didn't pickup a lock for an entire hour until I was on top of a massive building which I park on. It then picked up just a low signal. Then, after disconnecting WiFi, it seemed to pick up a signal perfectly.
Is there any way of preventing this happening?

Disconnect the WiFi while driving?

Maybe, the point was to use WiFi to download traffic updates though!

While driving?
Can't this being update with your smartphone net ("data")?

I have WiFi and GPS on on my smartphone (and my previous smartphones) with no problems.
Check the positioning of the antennas if possible.

I'm going to perform some experiments with it. I'm wondering it is perhaps a bug when I boot up the device with the WiFi chip inserted that it cannot pickup satellites. Possibly it needs a lock first. We'll see

Remain stationary when trying to get a satellite lock. Do not drive.

You have to be still. Make it so and practical.

Turns out it's not the WiFi, but my dash camera
It is interfering with the signal my GPS is picking up. Bad times

Might try wrapping the dashcam in foil.

It's a China 2Din.

Disconnecting the dashcam did make a difference this morning, however I'm almost certain now the main reason it's not as quick at locking as usual, is because the initial cranking on a cold morning is shutting down the WinCE side. This then reboots at which point it has to relock all satellites from cold. Normally, when you turn ignition off, the WinCE simply suspends, so the GPS files are still present when you reboot, therefore relocking takes about 2 seconds. This would explain why it seems to work perfectly later in the day.
Nothing I can do but deal with it tbh.
