Does it hurt to say "Thank You"?

Postby filesupload100 » Thu Dec 20, 2012 1:43 pm

Hi

Why is it so hard for people to say "Thank You" after they get what they was looking for?

How do I add the line "**Hidden Content: Press the Thanks button to see the content** " to my post?
Is it reserved for Moderators only?

Regards

The webmaster activated that feature for safety reasons, not for the thanks it provides. Downloads are killed too easily when the links are in the open.
By pressing the <thanks> button anyone who wants to see the now non-public link must be logged in and thus leaves a trace. Then a forum spy can be found and blocked.
The <hidden content - press thanks button> feature was in a test phase only intended for the team members, considering most of the Navitotal users do not ever (re)upload anything.
Maybe it will be released for everyone soon, because the links live longer since the introduction.
Mean time, you can ask a teammember to correct your uploads with the <hidden content - press thanks button >.

1. You can't. Per nabi "Ask a Mod to do it for you."
2. Yes.

It's about time to implement a solution here too, all my 87 uploads from last week were deleted within 2 days...

Apparantly it isn't hard :046: But this isn't what you mean, I am sure.

I agree. It helps to determine who comes here just to leech and/or spy. I hope Capo can create this function or install the plugin in this phpbb board. The past is repeating: non 'thank-button' protected links die shortly after publication. I hope the usefulness of such button is not disputable anymore.

However, IF the uploadsites have found a way to (better) determine what you uploaded - thus be able to "see" the content - and delete it for infringing their rules, the thanks button won't help anymore. Then you should try different uploadsites and see what is the most reliable for our cause.

I think courtesy, i.e. saying thankyou for valuable information, is important. But, how do you say thankyou?
A lot of threads don't seem to allow a quick reply.

Can you not just zip your files and call them something daft like Kittens and use dropbox or the likes?

Doesn't matter what the files are called when the software companies follow the links themselves and report the files.

When Dropbox will notice a traffic - and they will - they will examine why and suspend your registration, first for 2 weeks, the second time for ...
It has happened before.

My 2 cents: It takes over 1/2 hour just to re-up my program and a few minutes for the members to d/l it. I asked the members to make a mirror so the links don't die but they didn't do anything. I tried making a torrent of the program and asked the members to keep seeding it so it doesn't die. Again, they did nothing.

Most popular host sites I use:
[Please Register or Login to download file]
[Please Register or Login to download file]
[Please Register or Login to download file]

No need to register, use them as an anonymous user. From time to time, it can be that the host (any of them) is down, and comes back in a few days later.
Upload the same file you've downloaded, this file is already password protected, then post the link to the uploaded file.
Thank you for your willingness to make mirrors.
