i have an old mio p350 how can i add european maps

Sat Jun 29, 2013 12:52 pm

Sorry i am not very experienced with gps systems. I have on sd card (i supposed hacked) destinator 7.0.0.588.11 (to run it i just double click the destinator file on the card). Can i add european maps on that and if yes how? is there a different software i can use (preferably something i can download put in sd card and just run it). My device has:
microsoft windows mobile 5.0
memory (from settings): Program Total 54.10 MB, free 41.58MB, Main storage free 92.70 MB (total 94.61)
cpu 400 MHz (S3c2440A)

pls any help is welcomed, Tuesday i will travel to Spain, France and maybe Italy. Having this maps will make my travel a lot easier.

My best to all!

I would say yes. Stick to iGO8 though. Although you first need an unlock. Go here: http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?8816-Mio-3.3-unlock-modified-for-use-w-Primo2 Back up your Mio's internal files first! Then copy/paste the download to your Mio's internal.

First of all, a Mio P350 is a PDA. No unlock needed at all ! (I know, I have a Mio P360)
Second, yes, stick to iGO 8. Primo will run with a 320*240 data.zip but you won't like it at all. Memory is not plenty with 64MB which must deal with Windows as well.
In my experience, on this PDA no TTS possible, only normal voices. NOthin wrong with that.

Download any iGO8 (like http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?6880-Igo8-March-16-2011 or http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?10941-iGo-8.3.5-Minimal-for-low-power-devices-TBM) and copy it on your sd. When you make a shortcut on your desktop you can start it directly from the start screen. Fill the content folder with the maps you need, do the settings and off you go.

Thank you both for your replies, i found and downloaded maps for destinator but i would like to try iGO 8 i just wasn't sure if my RAM was enough. (i am not sure about the differences between TTS and normal voice, i don't think it matters to me :) )
nabi i would try your suggestion. If i understood correctly is a standalone, i copy files to my sd and run it. i will follow instructions from the link you gave and post my results

Nabi i followed the instructions in the link you gave. After i minimized the RAM requirements (by deleting the files mentioned in the instructions) I managed to run iGO but the resolution is not right. I changed sys.txt at [rawdisplay] with:
screen_x=320
screen_y=240
but still when i run it i see only a part of iGO's screen. Am i doing something wrong, do i need to download other files to have the correct resolution? (i search internet my device specifications are 320*240)

OK my mistake, i manged to run it propertly, i just need to download maps to see if gps is working alright too :)

For anyone else using mio p350 with no knowledge like me. These are the steps i did:
1.Download from the link nabi provided.
2. Minimized full program, following instructions from the link
3. Unziped 320_240 folder from data.zip and saved it in the ui_igo8 folder
4. Modified sys.txt:
[interface]
resolution_dir="320_240"

[rawdisplay]
highres=0
screen_x=320
screen_y=240
class="landscape"

Saved everything to my sd card and run it. that's it!
