Site virus or malware?

Postby Attila7 » Tue Dec 23, 2014 4:40 am

Every page I access on this site gives me an ad for some junk that loads over the page, I cannot see the page until I close the ad. I have tried ff and ie, both do the same thing. I know it is not my system as I have used 3 different computers and they all do it on navitotal only, no other sites? Some of the ads are not for legit things, pure garbage. Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions on how to stop these ads? A few times these ads have overloaded my system forcing me to reboot and start all over which of course caused a partial download to stop.

We are testing new system ads to pay the server.
They are no virus or malware available just ads...
Just use the top right cross to close the ad...
To stop the ads of course you should also become a VIP member...
Thank you for your understanding.

If you're using FF, just add the add-on called Adblock Plus - no more ads.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

Great idea, then you will pay the server cost monthly by yourself?
Guys, navitotal is hosted on a powerful server and this server is paid each month by ads rewards and donations.
So if all members react like you and turn off the ads, the server will be not paid and navitotal will be closed, are you sure you want this?

I wasnt actuly talking about the advert i was on about how you got to laugh at another thread disappearing. I zapped your adverts long ago after i was trying to explain why a set were annoying to the user (me) and i asked if they could be mover rather than removed. Your admin started to make mountains out of molehills so i though, sod you. I may have seen an advert and followed it but no chance now.

I use a few forums that advertise and have no problem. I did with this one but it seemed like i was being told tough, like it or lump it.

ive been an active contributor of the Mercedes benz forum since the beginning of this site. that being said, this spam crap is for the birds. it makes it so I don't even want to come here anymore. every click forces you to X out of the advert/spam. now it wants you to update your flash...just like the other known Trojan/virii/etc sites.

Well, NaviTotal was testing since December 2014 these new ads but as they seem to be really uncomfortable for the users, the campaign have been stopped and we will search a better way.
Thanks guys for your advices and sorry for the inconvenience.

What about adsence? [Please Register or Login to download file] Dont know if they support free forum software but the ads are relevant and less in your face. Another one is search boxes for ebay and amazon. You get paid if i use them. Often i leave this forum with other ideas and start looking on ebay. You could be getting paid for my curiosity. Do you get paid for the facebook twitter links? do folk use them or are they taking up space where the search box could be? If you do use search box links please look into them opening up in new window (pet hate) :046:
