Postby ninjageezer » Wed Apr 27, 2016 7:54 am

Hi all total newbie to the forum...had an old garmin nuvi 360 for some years now i need to move onto to something newer and larger that can take the newer larger maps also a larger screen.
torn between the tomtom and the garmin unsure of what model. which of the 2 manufacturers are the best for customization and easiest to upgrade the maps freely .
also reliability ect...

You don,t have to ask twice the same. If you get no response it is because the purchase is typical personal.
Today, all new satnavs have lifetime maps. So way bother with customizing (free maps) So the brand you prefer is up to you.
Il would simply remain in Garmin. I myself have the 2597LMT, which works very well.
It is possible to use free maps. By TomTom is this no longer possible.
You can find one for around 150 euros.
