Using BB codes

Postby chas521 » Sun Mar 31, 2013 12:57 pm

When posting links it is my opinion when applying certain BB codes within [] and [/] that using the word "code" in between those brackets nullifies the link from becoming clickable. If you are posting a link then make it a naked link. Thanks.

Why??
The code tag is for code only, otherwise existing content would be parsed.
We have the hide tags, the normal link tags Click here for this thread, which can be combined with the link smily :link:, so why should anyone post a link in plain sight?
Or am I misunderstanding you again?

No you didn't misunderstand. If someone uses the "code" word in brackets, nothing is hidden anyway and the posted link becomes ONLY copy/paste instead of being directly clickable to bring up the link. In iGO, I can't tell you how many times I've repaired "copy" bracket posts so they become clickable instead of only copy/paste.

Example:
Before with "code" http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?11813-Android-TomTom-1.1.1
After editing "code" http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?11813-Android-TomTom-1.1.1
Look at Australia [edited code].
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
