Is it worth it?

Postby Phil_T » Tue Feb 07, 2012 5:08 pm

Hi all

I'm a complete noob when it comes to sat navs. Gotta start somewhere I suppose!

I can get hold of a Navman S90i for £20. Is it worth it, or is it really too old/slow/difficult to upgrade maps?

Cheers in advance.

I'd buy it, with a bit of work it'll run tomtom and igo primo. Navman's have fast processors.

Before you buy it, make sure the previous owner hasn't messed it up by unlocking it wrong, so it doesn't connect to the pc.

Having issues!!! :)

Looks like many links are broken primo / TT auto activate etc. (we all know why!)

I've got the unit to the blue splash screen, but without anything to download, I'm a bit stuck.....

I could do with pointing (leading by the hand like a little girl!) in the right direction if anyone can help.

Cheers

OK, The Primo host Multiupload seems to be down at the moment, but the Tomtom links are working, but AutoActivate has been moved to here

You can use this version of Primo, you will need to edit the sys.txt to include your GPS settings.

Nice one - Thanks.

Got TomTom up and running, a few issues, but simple once the brain starts working! :)

But (always a but!) I can't get it to run through the start menu!!!! Get an error: can't run "My" make sure path is correct blah blah....very odd:chok_mini:

No matter what I try I just can't get it. It shows in the start menu but won't run. The path is correct "\Storage Card\Navigator\TomTom Navigator.exe\" but this can't run "MY" error comes out...........

Is there a way of putting an icon on the Nav's desktop?

Cheers

BTW.....

I don't have a folder named "unlocked" anywhere....? I've been putting the *.lnk file in the programs folder.

Post the contents of the shortcut.

It depends on the device where the unlock is installed, you are looking for the folder that contains the desktop, programs and startup folders and files including autorun.reg, autorun.mscr and PNADesktop.exe etc

Also with WinCE shortcuts the number before the # must be correct otherwise you get the error you described
