But antoniozanni is asking about Cyclops safety camera database. That's commercial product that comes in encrypted gpi file for each country/region. POI loader can't touch it.

Uhm ... sorry then. This is my first Garmin device. Has anyone tried to load that .gpi on CTP ?

Have you tried to place that Cyclops .gpi renamed to poi.gpi in Garmin/POI/ on your empty fat32 USB stick and see what happens ?

it says that it is not 'possible to update the poi.contact service center.while if I put alarms free downloaded from the network everything works perfectly.I think the official Garmin cyclops, even if unlocked, however, are encrypted.I also tried to convert in csv file with gpsbabel and load into usb stick whith POIloader, but not work...:diablo:

So it seems Cyclops is protected better than any of their map sets ;)

Cyclops file contains some features that no-one figured out yet. First, it's encrypted, and nobody, so far, was able to decrypt it. Second, it is the only one known that supports directional notifications. Meaning, it will warn about red light or speeding camera only in the direction you are going to (it will not warn if you are coming from opposite direction). All other proximity announcements happen on distance trigger, regardless of the direction of travel.

I think you're right.....

That`s the fact, proximty alert warns you always, no matter of direction, but on the other hand, for me it`s good, because here we got a lot of stationary speed cameras which get rotated in every few weeks by police/staff ;-)

Life sucks! I sold my 3790 and purchased 3490, to have unit compatible with CTP13. Guess what? I still can't update, with exact same error as before. I followed given instructions for CTP13 update to the letter. Son of a $#@%!!! :bo_mini:

Damn that sucks.. try using a slower speed USB drive.

My faster drive failed on my CTP13 even though it worked perfectly on my CTP2012.

When I used a USB drive that a slower transfer rate, everything worked.

Party time!!!

I used faster USB stick this time. Not USB3, because I only have 64GB USB3 sticks and UConnect won't read them, but fastest USB2 I have. Kingston DT101 G2 16GB. Interestingly enough, 8GB version of same model did not want to work. After unlocking image with gimunlock I used GMapTool to write unlock code into IMG file. The same code I placed in .unl file. So, I don't know if it's specific USB stick or addition of unlock code into IMG file, but I'm glad I'm past this insanity. Well, for another 3 months, at least :)

I tested and speech recognition, 3D and junction views (split screen) all work. Can't say for traffic trends, but I'm not sure that makes much of a difference anyways.

Thanks everyone for moral support.

When one gets happy, another one gets sad :bo_mini:
My Phone and VR functions in my CTP13 are gone. When I was on my holiday, one day they just stopped working :scratch_one-s_head_, two buttons in the steering wheel are dummy, phone screen hangs on "Hands-Free system loading. Please Wait" I tried to reflash the software (3.15) unplug the battery as adviced, still the same.
I even managed to get original en_GB.srd file (Voice Recognition Data) from Garmin (Garmin officially does not support these OEM products) and flash it too, because I was thinking this might be the issue, but no way.

Perhaps time to visit dealer? At least this is something you can show them not working, and they can't say "that's by design".

wow that sucks there is no way those functions should be broken by anything you have done... those systems are outside of the garmin software probably why reflashing the 3.15 does nothing.

that is uconnect software in general, we have only been messing with garmin software.
