Ok so my voice recognition no longer works right...
I can't spell out names, addresses like I could before it says feature is not supported.... damn my wife is going to be pissed at me

Damn, I have no clue why ASR stops working in some cases. It's always risky to do updates in this way, because no one can guarantee it will be 100% right. I hope everybody does understand that ...
You'd better not try to update only with JCV and .img because you may lost ASR functionality as some of you report.

Nah my wife was cool about it.
So anyways it finished updating. Gave me the same did not install successfully message. However it installed fine again and the ASR is working now. So you definitely need the ASR files...
However the failed message indicates that there are some files still missing that the uConnect updates... wonder what feature those are...

I know that there are g2s files and sid files. I am going to pull the XML from my Dart and post the structure on here... Maybe someone can figure it out or understand/explain it better that is familiar with it.
The update process seems to do a full wipe and reinstall, so any files that is missing does not get installed. I.e, if you don't include the ASR files, it delete the old ones on install and won't have any ASR to work with after install.
BTW I have it updated on my 2012 Dodge Journey. I dare not touch my 2013 Dodge Dart yet lol only 2k miles, don't want to break it that quick :D. Besides that already has 2013 maps.

I have seen post with instructions about copying entire structure from Uconnect back to USB key, but can't find it now. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is that how you get to XML?
BTW, 2014 maps are due any day now.

Doing a little more search on the internet resulted in this great page with great info:

Also can anyone with the RB5 CTP2012 Dodge Journey 2012 or equivalent confirm it has TrafficTrends? Right now it is working fine so I am reluctant to reupdate it.... Just wondering if I don't include the files if it takes away a feature....
My RB5 CTP13 on the Dart has TrafficTrends and MyTrends... I can't remember if my wife's Journey had it... Should have taken screenshots before updating it.

The fact that it has SID file instead of G2S points that it's based on Garmin's 34xx series. I thought it was based on 37xx series.

Hi Guys, hello Subuk :-)
Can you upload that DVD?
What happens when we change just the names of the files from the DVD and flash them to our uconnect?
(older files we delete and copy the newer one which we have?)
Garmin/gmapptz.img 582 KB
(I think thats like a batch File /control File. I like to see whats inside)

The JCV and ASR filenames do not matter, or they matter but they are based on the current img and whatever it points to.
