Mls Destinator windows ce 5.0 Password Locked!! HELP!!

Postby tzokalaitzo » Wed Nov 06, 2013 7:22 pm

Hello guys, hello forum.

I have an unlocked gps with wince 5.0 and I tried to set a password for startup....the next time it booted...it was asking for a password... the problem is that i can't type the password because either the gps hasn't a keyboard or the resolution is only 320x240 and i can't still reach the text box to enter the password!!

Activesync and mass storage works...

Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Alex.

Is this a password for an application or Windows itself?

What is on the screen?

Do you see the taskbar?

Unfortunately, the only thing i see is a half-cut(because of the low resolution: 320x240) window which want you to type the password to proceed... 5980
if i don't type the password ,nothing will be shown...
any solutions?

If you connect to Activesync, does it ask for the password?

The password is stored in the registry somewhere, it'll be encrypted though.
Also the option to ask for it on boot will be in there as well, use a pc based mobile registry editor and have a look around.

Failing that a hard reset will remove it, if it's possible to do one.

if nobody knows where the password is located in the registry, i think that a hard reset could be done... but i don't know the way to do it... :scratch_one-s_head_

A hard reset may not be possible, you would have to Google it to find out.

From searching the 'net it seems many people have fallen into this trap.

There are some other things that could be tried, no guarantees any of them will work, but worth a try...

Do you know any of them..? Damn...if i knew the proccess name of the password window i could kill it on startup with mortscript....do you remember the power off command via mortscript and pocketnav? I would change it and make a command to kill the window. But...crap i can't see the proccess from resinfo....damn again....

If you can run apps at startup then use a mortscript to start \windows\control.exe

Then you may be able to turn off the password.
