I've done it (out of pure misery) at the price of 99.00 euro for Europe.
Once the new SD card is put into the navigation system,
there is a full upgrade (software + maps).
At home, I checked the old SD card and you cann't even copy it or format it !!!
I studied it for about 2 weeks and putted it back in the box for sale on 2hand.
I play with my Tomtom's but this is another piece of cake !!!!
It is possible to copy the dvd to the sd card in the unit itself right? Can you upload a copy of your 99euro dvd? so that i can try if using a burned disc works?
I got an fx 2009 sd card and was able to copy its contents to my pc it is in a map named cryptnav> with maps> cfg, data, dnl, a compress.dat, medium cfg and a readme containing stats and registry info.
I mess around with all portable nav units, like mio, medion, tomtom, even the carminat systems in renault, mercedes navigation discs etc. New to Ford units, but from what i find it is impossible to crack this system.. there should be a way to do it though, nothing is impossible..
