Navigon 40 Easy GPS Problem

This Section is for General discussion and help for Navigon GPS Systems.

All Binatone's are the same unlocking wise, but avoid the older A, B, C, X series as they have slow processors,

The S500 is a nice device, only things to watch out for is user error resulting in failure to boot, only a ROM flash will fix it, and not every device's ROM is available, also watch out for failed internal flash chips, this gives a error message like, "Recover the hive partition", this is not fixable.

Thanks for your advice; I will buy an F430. No doubt I will be asking you more questions on the other Forum section.

Sorry, I do have a question about IGO Primo!

All has loaded succesfully. My only problem is that I can not get the low bridge warnings to appear. I have the appropriate fdr file but I suspect that I need a sys entry to make them work. Any ideas?

From a more in-depth search it appears that iGO has a problem with the GPS receiver in the Navigon 40 Easy, and i can't find a solution to fix it.

Other software may have more success, But not Tomtom as it doesn't like WinCE6! Maybe Sygic?

You will not fail with a Binatone!

I missed this post yesterday...

Things to check for...
Check you have the correct licenses.
Check you have the correct .ftr file for the mapset
To get truck restrictions working change your profile to lorry, tick use extended settings, fill out the dimensions

Please Note, some mapsets needed the height and weight to be a multiple of three, ie, height X 3, weight / 3, something like that.

Thanks for the advice; I think I have cracked the problem. Probably using the wrong map.

Next question! Any idea which script generates the sounds for say approaching a low bridge. I did this on my Pioneer Avic that uses IGO8.3 but cannot find the write file to edit.

Again thanks for all your help.

There is no script, within Primo, go to Settings->Sounds and Warnings->Warning Sign Alerts->Lorry-specific to edit the distance and alert type, then go back to the Warning Sign Alerts screen and make sure the top option is ticked, then tap Sound settings to change the warning method and sound (if you have TTS pro enabled the sound option will be greyed out)

For information, Preliminary alerts you when the sign first appears in grey, and Active waits until the sign goes red before alerting you.

I have been unable to get TTS pro working using the downloads I have been able to find. Can you recommend a download that is not a 'torrent'?

Thanks Colin

The torrent for tts pro available from here does work, can you elaborate on why it doesn't work for you?

I attach the instructions that came with the download. Basically TTS Pro remains greyed out in the menu of options and the voices do not work. Do you think that it should work?

I am not keen on using torrent files.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Zervdim's voices gave us a lot of trouble because they were modified.

I appreciate you don't like torrents, but yurbuh tuggly's voice pack does work, and is unmodified, and works!

Re: Navigon 40 Easy GPS Problem

Postby salleserbian » Sun Jan 25, 2015 10:55 pm

Hello I have Navigon 40 Premium, and I managed to solve the problem of installing IGO 8 or PRIMO or any navigation. THIS The internal memory devices that folder ManualReader I copied igo.exe and the rest of the necessary files and folders (content .....), then I renamed the file ManualReader.exe in ManualReader1.exe a name ManualReader.exe gave igo.exe UNDERSTAND what I did. Right. Then I turned off the navigation. On, immediately started the standard NAVIGON software but now the magic happens. WHEN the initial screen select the BOTTOM OPTION so GUIDE. EEEE now start IGO or PRIMO. In this way navi itself include a GPS receiver and he's doing, and IGO easily detect the GPS settings. Who understands me realize is, it's crazy. Thank write to [email protected]. GREETINGS FROM THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIAN, ......
