Hi chas521,

Still no luck in getting a downlo@ded version to work on my unit.

Just wondering if there is someone who can cr@ck my original files instead? Cheers.

You could try this but I'm not sure if it will work but why not try. Copy the license file and the .exe file from my version to your version. You may have to copy the data and the branding.zips at some point - may not. Also, you may have to delete your save folder. Always back the originals up first though.

Hi all, did you find a solution in the mean time?

I'm trying to get Igo Primo or some alternative like Navigon MN 7 to run on that device. Whatever I do it will crash.

So if there is something like a runbook, I'll be the happiest ever!

Managed to Primo to run on the device. TMC works! But still need to figure out the correct settings for GPS. However the entries for Clarion_ENB3 don't seem to work with Primo regarding GPS.

Hi mate,

Glad to hear that you got Primo working on your unit.

It has been a couple of months now that I haven't touch my unit. If possible can you tell me which Primo version have you installed in the device. And so it means that the unit doesn't crash anymore with this software? Do all the other functions in the car stereo unit works as well?

Sorry, bit in a rush.

I managed to get 9.6.13.267029 running from SD card. GPS and TMC are working well. The breakthrough was setting the screen resolution to 480x234.

GPS is at COM 3 with 57600 Baud. TMC on COM 1 (configured like in the ENB3.ini you mentioned earlier). So in fact most answers where already given in this thread.

Current downside: Speech is not working at all.

As I will not give up, I will further work on the speech issue and would post a step by step instruction including sys.txt as soon as I have succeded.

Primo looks great on the device!

Do I understand you correctly? You have NO speech working at all? Neither non-TTS or TTS. Where did you get the program? Please post your sys.txt and a screenshot of your SD card.

Yes, that's correct. No TTS and no non-TTS and by the way no sound at all (no ding, no dong or whatever...).

This is the [Please Register or Login to download file] , and this is the [Please Register or Login to download file] where I got my resolution files from.

Here is my sys.txt: 5302

And here a directory listing of the SD-Card (Primo-Root): 5303

When ejecting the SD-Card the system will boot into the original Clarion-installation of IGO8. Sound does work there, so I do assume, that it is not a problem of setting up the main unit VX709.

Any idea?

I have tried running the program thru the SD card and it runs well without any sound as you have mentioned.

Then I have tried loading the program to run from the flash memory and the same crashing happens again like a loop. At least we know that it can work with the SD card in the unit but without any sound though.

Hey mate (wagawaga), if you don't eject the SD card, does the unit load itself with Primo without going into WINCE?

No, as for now I will let it "boot" from the SD using the "File extractor - Clarion" from earlier in this thread. I have added PE-Process Explorer to the SD Card in order to kill the auto.exe process (this would keep backing up internal storage all the time). So after killing this process I would start primo.exe manually (changed the 15 sec value to 60 sec in one of those ini files in folder "algzhdvb".

If I leave the SD-Card in + powercycle (car's engine off and back on) it sometimes would stay in the running instance of Primo and would sometimes reboot via Clarion's original installation with the desktop then popping up. Then again kill auto.exe.

You wrote you had copied everything to internal storage. Did you delete the old IGO8 stuff first? If so, did you rename primo.exe to clarion.exe on internal storage? Did you also change the pathnames accordingly? Reason for my question is, that it took me quite a while until I had the paths correctly set up. Until that time I had Primo crashing from SD as well. Did you change screen resolution? It will crash if that is wrong - so also data.zip has to have the right files for the according UI oon board.

Does moving Primo to internal storage effect the ability to boot from SD with "File extractor - Clarion"?

I do think it should be possible to boot Primo directly from SD if Primo's root folder would be set to "BACKUP". primo.exe would have to be renamed to clarion.exe (replacing the cedesktop.exe respectively the clarion.exe which initially came from Naviextras). This would still leave the problem, that obviously auto.exe would start producing the backup (with the effect of a terrible performance). I have not figured out what the *.ini-Files in the "algzhdvb" do. However I believe it should be possible to point them to a small textfile to be copied. Then auto.exe might close down asking for removal of the SD Card. Changing the auto.exe file to anything else *.exe did not work at all.

I'm not familiar with that site nor that "version" of their program - I've been doing this for years - so we at [Navitotal] really can't give you the proper support. Honestly, the files/folders on your SD card baffles me. I don't see the normal iGO program. My suggestion is to get a new SD card [not editing your present old one] and download this Primo that actually works http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?12043-iGo-Primo-2.4-9.6.13-Complete-Torrent Only add to the sys.txt regarding your device!

I sure will try this version! However as I have read at some other place there seems to be a similar issue with Zenec devices. But I'll give it a try and will let you now!

Many thanks so far!

I did rename the orginal Clarion folder to Clarion1 and then copied the Primo forlder into the flash memory then renaming it to Clarion. Note that you have to rename primo.exe to clarion.exe as well in the newly renamed Clarion folder. This way you can load it through the flash memory. You can still go back to your previous settings if you want to by inserting the SD card again to boot into WINCE. But the software just crashes as I have said.

I was wondering if we can redirect it loading from the SD card instead off the flash memory just like some of the chinese gps units.

The "algzhdvb" folder with the *.ini files came from N@viextras synctool where I modified some of the *.ini files to fully backup the files in the system. Without it being modified it only copies certain files. And it helps us to boot into WINCE.
