GPS Shutdown Program

Postby Navcan » Fri May 16, 2014 6:09 am

I have my navman unlocked and running igo, I have it hard wired to the car and every time I turn the car on the navman comes on but when I turn the car off the navman stays on and requires that I press the button on top for many seconds so that it shuts down. Is there any program or something that will be able to turn the navman off after 5 mins of not being run on car power? something I am able to turn on and off as well? So when I leave the car and lock it the navman will not keep running till its batteries go flat but turn itself off when it sees no programs are running and in desktop mode and has no power.

thanks

You can do this with a mortscript, I'll post one later...

Here are two scripts, one gives a dialogue with the option to cancel shutdown and the other doesn't.

Copy/Paste the link if it doesn't go anywhere, also use the orange Download Now link.

The first time you run it, it doesn't display anything, this is so you can add it to a startup script without it creating a dialogue on screen.

Make sure you're starting it correctly though.

seems to be working good, took the car for a little drive this morning (hiking) so how it works is when you power the device on by itself with no power cable attached it wont show the dialogue box, but if you do have it turned on and plugged into the car so it turns on when the car is, then as soon as the car is shut down the dialogue box appears and gives me a 1 click option to shut it down or it auto shuts down within 30 seconds. which is excellent, just as I wanted :023:

a very good add-on if you have the navman hard wired to the car, while it has its turn off button in a hard to reach position and you just cant be bothered touching it

thanks fatboy, you are always a real help :)
