Updating NA Maps Mio310X iGo8

Postby RoadnTrail » Fri May 04, 2012 9:34 pm

I am trying to get new Navteq North America maps for my Mio C310X GPS receiver using iGo8 and JG skin. I got a link to a couple sites, but I can't do much with them. One of them had something about magnets, and another wanted me to download a iLivid program, which I was leery of doing. I updated about a year ago and things seem to be simpler. I think I used a torrent method, and had to download may be 10 folders. Can you give me any help with links or anything like that that I can be more confident in?

After I am successful with that, I would probably want to get the points of interest and perhaps buildings from Telatlas.

Thank you very much for your help.

Magnet links are just like torrents, use utorrent to download

On the link protector sites be wary of adverts that just display a download button which takes you to the ilivid cr@p, the real button is usually further down the page.

There are a few USA and Canada maps here...

TA POIs http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?9647-Teleatlas-%28now-TomTom-Maps%29-USA-Canada-2011-Q3 I don't use buildings. They only make for eye candy and only cause memory errors.

It looks like that downloads maps and POI. Is there anyway to download just the POI's?

Maybe. But it depends upon what state[s] you're looking for. I have the East coast plus a few others.

[Please Register or Login to download file] shows no files. The download wants me to download iLividsetup.exe, which I am afraid of. Is there any other way to download on line?

I am looking for the Telatlas POI's. I got the Navteq POI's from the third quarter of 2011. I currently have the Telatlas from a year and a half ago. If I cannot get the more current version of the Telatlas, would I be better off with the Navteq POI's from the third quarter of 2011?

Also, would it be a problem mixing the POA's using some Telatlas and some Navteq?

I was not sure what you meant by post #2. I am not sure that the files that I am looking for are available any more.

Post #2 talks about iLividsetup.exe which you were afraid of. No problem mixing POIs except that you would probably start getting some duplicates. What states are you looking for? Link in post #5 still works.
