Complete NEWBI Garmin User

Hi Garmin Users

Recently purchased hopefully a working "USED GARMIN NUVI 1340"

I was wondering how begin to learn, about patching and updateing the device

I have had a TOMTOM XL GPS for several years and thanks to the advice and information on this site and the excellent resources available have installed new Navcores and Maps succesfully.

I now would like to do the same with the Garmin

I worked in IT support in a UK university for over 25 years so I have problem understanding the computer side of it ie. files and folder strucure of the device

Can someone please point me in the right directon ?

For Garmin devices map updating and other things are much easier than for TomTom's.
You only have to copy the right file into the right folder: tutorials-f90/image-names-and-paths-for-garmin-devices-t4675.html
