Connecting garmin gpsmap 60cx to PC

Hello friends ,

i was just curious when i tether my gpsmap 60 64 to my laptop , the pc does not recognize anything is connected ... i tether my nuvi 1490 with no troubles...
also could i delete the base map of it and run a topo map as base map i have a few different topo maps i would like to run
thanks...
I am fairly new to messing around with gps but really enjoy learning about it

You have to set USB Mass Storage mode in ->Setup ->Interface to connect your GPSmap60 to PC.

But it is no good idea to delete the basemap, because the basemap is shown in higher scale and detail maps like Topo or CN would be displayed in lower scale. You'd best use detail maps on µSD cards.
