Welcome to the forum,Rar files are containers with a compressed version of the original files. No converting just unpacking

As you didn't use the thumbs up button to say "Thanks" ,I'm not sure what you downloaded ,your device only uses NT maps and only uses the Junction view file .jcv(480 x 270) file and the map .img file

If you are updating out of date maps on the device it is a simple matter of replacing old for new in the .system folder (make a back up of the old)
It is possible your device will not have enough internal space to handle the latest maps so an SD card is needed

SD card(Formatted FAT32)
Garmin\JCV\************.jcv
Map\gmapsupp.img
Before you post, "The archive is corrupt or damaged"
Please make sure your archive software is up to date or just Use the latest [Please Register or Login to download file]
