Garmin GB Discoverer Map - what do I do now ??

I have this map Garmin GB Discoverer 1:50K - Full Coverage and I have extracted the IMG file to my desktop and followed these instructions that I found from another site but I keep getting an error message when I try to split it,

Do I have to change the FID?? and PID?? ? as its a different map

Do I have to strip the img file? is the img file the actual map that goes on the sd card?

Converting an img to mapsource
1. Run the GMapTool.exe
2. Hit "Add Files" and add the "gmapprom.img" file
2.5. Under the "options" tab tell it the location of cgpsmapper.exe
3. Click on "Split" at the top.
4. Select the directory where you want to save it
5. Make sure that "Create" is set to "files for mapsource"
6. Make sure there is a tick in "compile map preview"
7. Mapset name is "CN AUS & NZ NT 2010.10"
8. Tick "set mapset FID"
9. FID is 2006 and PID is 1
10. Click on "split all".
11. Wait until it is done, should take a couple of minutes.
12. Close GmapTool.exe
13. Open the directory from step 4.
14. Locate install.bat and run it.
15. That should be all you need to do to install maps into mapsource.

.IMG file is all ready use map just copy [SD-Card]:\Garmin directory name GMAPSUPP.IMG

and generate key with JetMouse keygen, put 25 digit key to file GMAPSUPP.UNL same directory (that is blain text file)

I had a feeing that I was trying to split it unecessarily, is the splitting process in order to pick parts of the map out to plan a journey? I am going to try and get the actual programme installed now before I ask any more questions. I have been checking alot out today and I think I am getting the information I need.I will let you know how it goes Many thanks.

I have downloaded the GB discoverer .IMG file and copied it over to my colorado 550.

Next i used JetMouse 1.5 to create a key and pasted this into a file called gmapsupp.unl in the same \garmin directory of my 4gb sd card.

However when i turn the unit on i get the message "Can't unlock maps" and (obviously) i cannot see the map to enable it.

Can anyone suggest what i can try next?

Where did you copy gmapsupp.img file on internal memory of Colorado 550t or SD Card? If img file is on internal memory, then use UNIT ID for unlocking, otherwise use CARD ID - case when img file is on sd card!

Use JM keygen 1.5 with checksum fix from link bellow, and follow instructions

Overview: There is a checksum bug in original JetMouse Garmin Keygen (Garmin Unlock Generator) versions 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 which generate invalid unlock codes for some map IDs such as 2040 to 2047. This release fixes the bug by a binary patch to v1.5. Enjoy!

on jetmouse keygen v1.5, put either the 10 digit gps - unit id number (will be unlocked only in your gps) or the sd serial - CARD ID (it will be unlocked in any
gps you put the sd card

under select map product, on the bottom, custom map set, add the maps FID, also called mapid, for this mapset MAP ID - FID = 2043

click generate a few times on the bottom, all those numbers will unlock the map, copy that 25 digit number into the gmapsupp.unl file, don't add a enter, just 25 digits on the first line.
On a sd card create a garmin directory, in that directory copy your gmapsupp.unl file (unlock file) and the gmapsupp.img (g2 map)
When you save the .UNL file in Notepad, be sure you set the "Save as type" to "All Files", not "Text Documents". If you used internal memory of your PNA, then you'll copy gmapsupp.unl to internal memory - Garmin folder, in this case for unlocking is used UNIT ID - unlocking just for your Colorado 550t.

I had a copy of JM without this checksum fix and that was the problem (it works fine for my older maps).

Generated a key with the new JM binary and it loaded straight up!!! :-)

will this map work on win ce 5.0 devices
