Garmin Drivesmart 66/76 and Topo maps

Hope you are doing well.
In the past, both with Nuvi 3597 and Drive 61, I could just put TopoActive Europe Maps on a sdcard (either from my Forerunner 965 or from internet) and use it for light offroad. Same as OSM Topo maps like frikart.no or maprando.
On the Nuvi 3597 I am not sure if I patched the device, I think not.
On the Drive 61 I know I patched (only after that I tried to put the maps on a sdcard, so I don't know if the patch is needed or not).
I am willing to upgrade to a 66 or 76, but would like to either have the TopoActive or OSM Maps, so I could offroad when needed.
Since they can't be patched, can I use this maps?If so, is there any special "condition" to use them?
If the only alternative is to buy from garmin, is it possible to buy TopoActive and load it on the Drive Smart 66/76?
