If you manage to connect your device in a PC and see the directories on it it could be easier!

Just have in mind that in some devices the .img maps are installed in a hidden directory named .system

Please, Keep us informed about.

I have done it, finally!!
i just did post number 6 and it worked. The maps are 2016.20. What I was getting wrong was not selecting USB 1st, so the unit can read whats on the USB pen drive. After reading the drive, I just go to NAV then settings/About/update... it then asks me if I wanna update map...

Hello,
I hawe problem with upgrade navigation maps to the CN Europe NT 2017 (4GB) or CN Europe NT 2016 (2GB) or CN Europe NT 2015 (2GB) via SD/USB.
Now I hawe CN Europe NT 2011, garmin SW 4.5, and Kenwood lastest SW v1.9.0, BT 4.0.1 rls.

In sd/usb I have:
\Garmin
cne.2015.40NT_2gb (System Information File)
GarminDevice (XML Document)
gmapsupp (Disc Image File)

When I put USB and click update, I recive message "The map update on the USB storage device is not compatible with the device"

Please help me if it's possible.

As i explained before there are two ways to recognize and update new map on your device

1.You create a stick or SD like you have done the map on \Garmin directory and the name gmapsupp.img no need to do any update you just go and check what maps are on the device and shoud recognise but in this case you have to let your usb connected on your device always. THIS WAY NO NEED TO ASK YOUR DEVICE TO DO LOAD MAP BUT THE STICK OR SD CARD SHOULD STAY ON THE DEVICE ALWAYS

2.You connect your USB in the back side of your device where are two USB ports on this one where it is writen USB (not ipod) and then you go to the menu put the device as massive storage it is starting reading the device take few seconds... if it is note recognised repeat again then you go to navigation mode go to Settings\System\About\Update Map and it will ask you if you want to continue say yes and it will take few minutes maybe 10-15. when finished take off your usb and should be ok if you want go to navigation settings\Map\About and see what map is installed.

SO PLEASE TELL ME IF YOU TRIED ALL THE ABOVE METHODS AS DESCRIBED

Folders are unlocked, can you check them? I tested CN Europe NT 2017 (4GB), CN Europe NT 2016 (2GB) and CN Europe NT 2015 (2GB). Maybe I miss a few more files ... Can you send me your maps to put them on the sd card and test it? :bs_quesexclaim:

maybe these maps aren't compatible with basemap? :bs_quesexclaim:

when you say don't work could you specify exactly what is going on your device? it start and cannot load? it is stacked? or you go to upload the map? Something we are missing! And otherwise there is already a map which is working on this device?

Based on the maps that you have sent me i noticed that all of them are smaler than 2GB. Maybe your device cannot recognize file bigger than 2GB So i will create one file like this and post to you after a while to check!

I have upgraded radio fw to lastest version 1.9.0, with that fw they can read cards larger than 2GB, I tested both, larger and smaller, but the result was always the same.
