I have been searching for a cable to power my Garmin in car.

My current power cable plugs into a cigar lighter port and connects to the windscreen sucker pad holding the garmin.

The image shows the plug used in the Garmin holder.

I have searched for a USB to this plug without joy, can only find Cigar lighter to this plug.

I have tried using a USB to mini USB, but the Garmin shows as connected to a PC and will not run any Maps etc.

Anyone know of a cable USB to the Garmin plug.

for which model ?
I think you need to have one more input ,you can try through it if it will not load
yet I guess through it you connect to a personal computer, and every nuvi is charging like that

I have a in car charger.

I am looking for a USB charger version.

If I use a standard USB to Mini USB, the Garmin thinks connected to PC, because 99% of leads are for Data not charging only.
