Has anyone got Garmin to work through miopocket 4.0 ?

Fri Sep 17, 2010 11:46 am

I have installed mio pocket on my viamichelin x960. I can run tomtom and igo8 but I am having problems with garmin. I have d/l a version that says it is specifically for win ce 5.0 (small screen) but when I try to load it through miopocket nothing happens. I guess I have two questions really,

1. Which version should I be using that works through miopocket

2. Would the garmin application load if I don't have a map installed?

If you can help me out that would be great.

Many thanks

Please provide more details when you ask something! Like Resolution of your device, size of RAM memory, etc. we don't know everyone gps device!

Another thing, Garmin XT for Win CE is cracked version, and don't expect that will can run on everyone gps device with win ce, cause manufacturers modify win ce on their devices, and then is dificult to run garmin xt win ce cracked version on all devices with win ce devices, often missing much .dlls files, etc.

It's not importan that you use miopocket, if on that release is described is for win ce 5.0 , then it's ok, problem is with modified win ce versions...

You have to put at least garmin basemap on it, probably it's included in that release, check in map folder...

You are welcome

Hi heres the answers to your questions:

Technical
Size 100 x 77 x 20.5mm
Colour Dark Grey
Weight 136g
Screen 3.5" QVGA LCD (£")x240) / 65,536 colours
Processor Samsung 300 MHz
Memory 64MB RAM / 128MB ROM

I have tried to run a garmin that says its cracked for windows ce 5.0 however, it doesn't work. I have tried also to install garmin via the SD (cutting out miopocket) but again it doesn't work, I have primo, tomtom, igo, destinator all working fine but I am just having an issue with garmin. You know its one of those things that I would just like to get to work, I have been spending all week getting all the rest working I just want to add closure with garmin, anything you can offer to help me out would be very nice of you.

Screen 3.5" QVGA LCD (£")x240) / 65,536 colours

Missing info about resolution, probably 320x240, cause it's 3.5".

Can you access to windows ce of your device ? If you can access directly to win ce of your device, with file explorer run directly QUE.EXE from your SD CARD, and see what's happen, post here results..
Another thing, check how is your SD CARD recognized by your device, like Storage Card, MMC, SDMMC, etc ? Then i'll can tell you what version to use, cause if sd card is recognized diferent than SDMMC, you'll have to edit path in your que.exe with some hex-decimal editor... For resolution 320x240 you'll have to use corect QueBmp file, some of release has inside more QueBmp files, you'll need one with name QueBmp320 , and just rename it QueBMP240.dll

try this version for win ce, and like i told above, first try directly to run QUE.exe

[Please Register or Login to download file]

It's doesn't matter that you can run other gps softwares, garmin isn't same like other gps softwares, specially cause this is cracked version, remember that's not oficial garmin version, cause garmin didn't make ever garmin xt for win ce!

When i find more free time, i'll can help you more, for now check these thing above...

Ok I will try the above and I will let you know how it goes, in regards to your question referring to how the SD load I have to rename the app to InstallSD and place it in the folder on the route of the sd card.I have been doing a little research today also so tomorrow when I can get back in to the swig of things I will do exactly what you have said and let you know how it goes thanks for all your help hun. x

Correct it is 320x240 with a 3.5" screen

I have tried to access the QUE.EXE file within file explorer (through miopocket) but nothing happens (see below)

When I navigate in file explorer I can see the device calls the sd card 'storage card'

For resolution 320x240 you'll have to use corect QueBmp file, some of release has inside more QueBmp files, you'll need one with name QueBmp320 , and just rename it QueBMP240.dll

Do you know where I can obtain these dll files?

try this version for win ce, and like i told above, first try directly to run QUE.exe

Ok here goes.... After downloading the files you provided in the above link I loaded all the files on to the storage card and then placed the 'storage card' in to the PNA, I started up the PNA and pointed the garmin icon on miopocket to GmobileXT.exe which is located /storage card/garmin/RunGMX/garmin.exe. After pointing it I restarted the PNA and tried to load garmin through the icon on miopocket. The screen went black and then flashed up Loading... after about 30 seconds the screen went back to the miopocket 4.0 splash screen. I have tried also pointing to QUE.EXE with this method. I have extracted and pasted the error log below in hope that yourself or someone with the same knowledge of this application will be able to assist me.

that dll files are included in version which you downloaded from link in my previous post... First try like i told before QUE.exe directly, go in thread garmin xt win ce for chinese devices 800x480 in garmin software section, and download from there QUE.EXE edited for sd cards recognized like Storage Card.

http://www.navitotal.com/forums/showthread.php?2329-Garmin-Mobile-XT-CE-for-Chinanavi-with-800x480

que.exe from wm folder change with that QUE.exe for Storage Card which downdy edited, then directly through file explorer try to run QUE.exe - Storage Card version, and post here results..

Ok, So I have been all through that forum link you gave me I have downloaded both the QUE for storage card and the complete garmin for storage card. I have deleted the existing QUE and replaced it with the QUE for sorage card I have pointed the shortcut to the QUE.exe and I get an error that says Que_Storagecarde.exe cannot find Que storgae card or one of its components.

I have also tried using notepad++ to change the script to storage card but it says that ithas changed nothing, so I take it the scripts are ok.

Where do I go from here. At the moment I have the following files:

1. Your files for Garmin core engine
2. Files for storage card on link provided incl map
3. QUE for storage card.exe

I have tried mixing and matching but I am not getting anywhere. Is there something I am missing? I am willing to work for it just let me know what I have to do.

You wrote above that your SD Card is recognized by your device like Storage Card, then you don't need to use Que_StorageCard, you need to try version for Storage Card, cause there is diference between recognizing like StorageCard and Storage Card, cause in another case is space between words Storage and Card.

First of all try directly to run Que.exe for Storage Card, from think link

directly over your file explorer if you can access to win ce desktop, then post here what's happened...

Ok, first of all I want to say thankyou for your help I know its incredibly frustrating sometimes trying to solve these issues and I want to say that I appreciate everything.

I have done what you have said and I have loaded up the mio pocket, gone into file explorer and tried to open the WM folder in the APPS folder unfortunately my device freezes and I am no longer able to continue. However, if I point the Que.e.xe to the Garmin icon on desktop an error comes up when its trying to load can't run wait Storage Card/APPS/WM/Que.exe (que.exe not found check to see if it is missing or if any other files are missing

I hope this information will help you to reach a solution.

You are welcome marcy, no problem, it's ok, we are here to share our knowledge with other people, and to help other people, but sometimes is dificult to solve some problem, if i don't have that device at me, and if i don't test directly on it!

Did you get this message?

"Cannot find que"(or one of its components). Make sure bthe path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are avaible".

you have problems with your win ce, and missing dlls files for your win ce.

Yes I am getting that message, I am trying to run it through mio pocket 4.0. My device was orginally set up with viamichelin software but I have installed mio pocket 4.0 to run the gps applications. How can I rectify the missing dll files?

Ok, please next time write full error message which you get, cause we can't know what's happened, if you didn't write exactly error message , etc. !

First of all you have to check what .dlls are missing, with one of these 2 tools which i uploaded, check what .dlls are missing, you have to run these tools on your device, and to open que.exe with them on your device, i think there is a lot of work for you, and that with your skill is dificult to solve this, if you can run IGO8 you can use it, cause igo8 has similary maps like garmin, both them buy maps from Navteq, igo use + teleatlas maps...

Ok we are getting somewhere now, I have done a hard reset on my viamichelin and reinstalled mipocket 4.0 I can now access the QUE file on the storage card via explorer I have tried the file called garmin xt for win ce 5.0 that you gave me the link for an absolutely nothing happens when I click the QUE file or the garmin exe file. I am trying the other one now

Edit: No nothing happens if I click on QUE.exe on any of the files you gave me ?however, I can now access ce explorer without errors. I have installed garmin for Storage Card and when I clicked the Que.exe it says [u]que.exe is not a valid windows ce application
any ideas?
