How to install Garmin Top Benelux 2010 ?

Postby Ton » Thu Jun 17, 2010 5:53 am

Hi all,
is it possible to install and use Garmin Topo Benelux 2010 on a WinCE-based PNA ?
I have Garmin Mobile XT installed on my PNA (wince5) and run the "normal" map from a gmapsupp.img file which is in the Garmin directory on the SDCard allready.
After unpacking Benelux Topo 2010 I got a directory with all kinds of different .img files and also a install.bat (ms dos) file. How to proceed now to make it work from the SDCard ?

Install Garmin Mobile PC version, unlock that version of installation of topomap benelux, firstly copy-paste that foler in Garmin folder on C:\Garmin, you have whole installation of topmap bnl, use that install.bat to unlock, probably that is unlock file, and then you'll see topomap in mapsource list of map products, and generate .img file of topo map benelux over mapsource, send it to garmin mobile pc folder, and that generated unlocked .img file manually copy - paste to your win ce pna device...

Or simplier, just find unlocked topomap Benelux, and copy-paste it to your device.

Sucro,
thanks again, it worked as you pointed out. I stored the map on my SD Card and named it gmapsup2.img
I can see the map is available when I look in the overview of maps, but my additional question is now: how can I change between the different maps I have installed ?
The only thing I can think of myself is to rename one of the maps temporarely so the other one is the only one that will be recognized, but I hope there is maybe a more elegant and less complicated way to change between maps ?

Ton ton how many times i have to write "for thanks use button thanks" :) !!! ??? You didn't read what i write about this, or you read just solution when i wrote you ! :p

For switching map set like europe, topo maps, etc. you can try this, go to tools\settings\about and on this panel ABOUT, you'll see on bottom in right corner, button CONTENT, and there check if you can to check or uncheck some map set, cause on some devices on that way you can switch between map set, to include one mapset, or to include if you don't need it...

Or try this method like pietu described ;)
