I was creating a POI in my Nuvi 1300 and to increase the accuracy of the POI I searched for the same address in Map Source, so when I had located the exact intersection I copied the coordinates in my nuvi (where to/coodinates) but the place was another.
The coodinates I got in my nuvi are: N20.75372 W103.42505
And the coordinates I got from MapSource for the same spot are: N20.45222 W103.25501
Not even close!!
I´m positive i´m using the same map in Nuvi and MS, and I googled it and the only reason I could find was about being using different DATUM.
In MapSource (at the bottom bar) shows its using WS84, but I can´t find this info in the Nuvi.
Do you know where I can find wich DATUM is being used in Nuvi 1300 units?
Or any ideas why the coodinates and geographical spots doesn’t match?

Hi There...
It could be a miss match between decimal degrees and degrees, minutes, and seconds.
This site can do the conversion for you.
[Please Register or Login to download file] I had this problem when pin pointing a location using the GPS and Mapsource for an APRS application.

Balkanernos no "datum", date :p
for right time settings you need gmaptz.img which is responsible for time settings.
The time zone index means that for devices that support this function, the time zone is set automatically after the current position, provided it is automatically selected in the device settings = time zone. It is the time zone change can not correct the time required.
The file is gmaptz.img, like everyone else. Img files are copied to the Garmin folder.
Write us which map set do you use? With some of garmin map set release are included appropriate gmaptz.img files...

V: CN North America NT 2011.20 ALL (0)
F: PID 1, FID 2265, CN North America NT 2011.20
Brand new my nuvi didnt include Can so i updated it with this unlocked IMG, and then i uploaded the same map (mapsource version done by somebody else, not me) to map source.
btw, i emailed Garmin support, and the answer was like this: run webupdater, then reset the unit and magically all your problems will go away ;)
i ran webupdater, but im sure the problem is not in the nuvi, because i checked coodinates betwen nuvi and google earth and google maps and they matched fine. maybe it the mapsource version of the maps i uploaded

Maybe, most of that mapsource versions are patched, and maybe somewere there is problem... Try with latest mapsource version, cause in every newer version some of bugs are fixed...
