With Garmin you want the newest Unlocked City Navigator (CN) maps available...

With Garmin Mobile XT on WinCE devices you need to run the Garmin.exe file in the RunGMXT folder, This starts a script which does "some stuff" and starts Garmin, You can open the Garmin.mscr script in Notepad if you are curious, Obviously don't change anything unless instructed to.

Once started go here to create the sw.unl file... http://www.navitotal.com/showthread.php?9284-How-to-create-a-SW.UNL-for-WinCE5-XT

Like Double click the exe file on the computer? Because I get an invalid win32 file. Or do you mean I have to run extract the garmin folder to the sdcard and then take the SD to my device which is in my car lol, and run this from the device?

Unfortunately that's the procedure, Tomtom is the same...

I imagine a lot of to-and-fro'ing!

This is my Garmin XT SD card section.
If it ain't broke don't fix it!
ALWAYS BACK-UP YOUR FILES/FOLDERS BEFORE MAKING EDITING CHANGES!

Please do NOT post any thanks. Simply press the hand icon with the "thumb up" which is the thank you button.

iGO allows poi search by name, use the filter button and type in what you want, this works for every poi on the device or just one category.

throughout this thread everyone is telling you "iGO is better", "Igo does exactly what you want" and "use iGO" and you persist in trying everything but iGO :scratch_one-s_head_
hmmmm

Nubi, I already have igo. There's nothing wrong with having another One, lol.

I think I'll just continue and try to install Garmin xt. Just because of the best routing could be very useful. By the way my igo8's tts seems not to work for some reason. When I go into regional I click on the tts voices and it does nothing. When I click on the other regular English voices it works, weird..

There could be a good reason for that:
1) Somehow the TTS voices and engine are not correctly installed
2) Your device is somehow just not capable of TTS

But you seem focused on getting Garmin to work for some reason, so what would be the point of trying to 'fix' it anyway?

PS. his 'name' is nabi. Be careful with that.
But that's just my opinion..I could be wrong.
