Lane assist for a model that does not have one?

Postby willb » Thu Jun 14, 2012 4:21 pm

The Nuvi 1300 does NOT have lane assist out of the box. I've seen the 1300 LMT advertised with lane assist. I'm guessing the hardware is the same for both model (other than the ability to receive traffic). Is it possible to give the 1300 a different "engine" that does lane assist? I looked through the various tutorials, but didn't see anything obvious. With a TomTom, I presume you could replace the "navcore" - is there something equivalent in the Garmin world?

It's not like TomTom, but you can enable "hidden" functions, which have other devieces of same series.

When I have a little bit time, I will post a tutorial for that - please be a bit patient.

Yes you can. My nuvi 1250 now works perfectly with JVC (lane assist) files.

Google "enable features in your nuvi 12xx 13xx" might just help.
