Hi all, I also would like to update my Garmin DriveSmart 61, ver 3.70
Not sure how to check for the HW ID, would be good if somebody could tell me how to do this.

There nothing to do with HWID - it just used to check that prepared patched firmware is exactly for your device.
Read all in viewtopic.php?f=89&t=17987 - you will do the job.
To be sure that you use correct and last update for your device - just start official garmin updater and process with SW update online [ or if you on latest - just reinstall it ] - in this case you will have in device memory latest firmware for your device [ gupdate.gcd ] in ./System folder - Use it!

PLEASE do not confuse the people more! They have to know that if they will patch with a firmware with different HWID their device maybe stacked thats the reason that we are always asking for the HWID because sometimes same devices have different HWID
Everybody can see the HWID number on a file Garmindevice.xml there is a text like 006-BXXXX where XXXX are the four numbers declaring the HWID
As much at it concerns the Patching everything is on the post

I have a Smart Drive 60LMT with the latest version 5.70. I`ve patched the update file with IMGPatcher 11, then converted to rgn with rgntool and filnally while updating with updator (in preboot mode), it gives me an error that "The Garmin device is not responding" . What else can I try. Thx

прошу помощи, таже проблема. 2588 только прошивка 6.10

I have the same problem.Garmin Drivesmart61,latest software update i think its 6.10.
when i look for those numbers you ask for me its hard to see which one of those is correct.
I find in lower portion of window Filename>GUPDATE.GCD/FilName and it comes with part number 006-B1257-00
So is this one B1257 you are looking for or not, there are other b or D numbers in there?

Yes,when I open it that way its easy way but before I did not use it that way.
So,my part number is 006-B2588-00
Software version is 610
Garmin Smartdrive 61
Please help me with a firmware to be able do install downloaded maps beside the one (USA) I have life time map upgrades!
