Hi Pietu,

Can someone please put up a proper tutorial as to how to make the maps work in mapsource. I have spent a day yesterday reading all I could find, including elsewhere, but to no avail.

I learned how to add the maps to my Oregon 300, by unlocking them first and them injectiing them into the garmin folder in the device, no problem there.

I seem to be seriously stuck with getting the maps to display in Mapsource.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

are you use MapSource special?

I have downloaded the Mapsource special edition 6.16.3 and am running windows 7.

It is not clear to me what the procedure for adding maps into mapsource is. I need this so I can draw tracks which can be then transferred onto the device.

I must know what you are download, gmap folder or something else...?

eg. Australia GMAP folder in windows 7:

Copy "City Navigator Australia and New Zealand NT 2011.10.gmap" folder into
%APPDATA%\GARMIN\Maps (or something like that all other languages)
OR
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\GARMIN\Maps (or something like that all other languages)


Copy/paste %APPDATA%\GARMIN\Maps to explorer address bar, if not found use only %APPDATA% and make GARMIN/Maps folder in it
