[SOLVED] Newb looking for help with updating a nuvi 1300

I am looking for the map file and process of updating the device. I seen that there are unlocked maps but cannot seem to figure out which one I need.
I see this: America - City Navigator North America NT 2017.20
I am leaning toward that as being what I need and I know that gmapprom is the map file but I am not sure about all the other files listed in that thread.
Device: Garmin Nuvi 1300

ive edited the original post but it is a Garmin Nuvi 1300

Sorry i did'nt noticed! So your basic map gmapprom.img ! About the other files it depends if you ever upgrade somehow the firmware some of such devices can be upgraded and recognize also JCV views

Can you explain to me what JCV files are for? Since my basic map is going to be gmapprom.img, do I just download the files for the IMG from here? : http://www.navitotal.com/new-maps-f88/city-navigator-north-america-2017-t18771.html

I just realized that the mapset of the file I have is exactly like the file here: new-maps-f88/city-navigator-north-america-2017-t18771.html except for the ending. .20/.30.
I then found this: post79939.html#p79939
so maybe I could take the file I have, rename it to gmapsupp.img and place it in X:\Garmin and it work. The file I have came from a Nuvi 52 that I had updated. I found a unlocker which I used on the map file.

I have succeeded in installing the latest map on my Nuvi 1300. As I mentioned before, I pulled the map file from my newer Nuvi 52 which I had updated with the Garmin Express program. Unlocked the map file with Protected Garmin file toolkit and placed that map file on a sd card in the Garmin folder (X:\Garmin) under the file name gmapsupp.img
