Latest firmware is 5.0 Install it with [Please Register or Login to download file]

you can use almost all maps

put maps:
Internal memory:
[X]:\Garmin\GMAPPROM.IMG
[X]:\Garmin\GMAPPROM1.IMG
[X]:\Garmin\GMAPSUPP.IMG
[X]:\Garmin\GMAPBMAP.IMG (basemap)

SD-Card:

i downloaded the map Europe NT 2011.10a Mapsource Unlocked which now contains an image file GMAPSUPP.img since there is only one file do i put it straight onto the memory card on its own as the memory card is blank im a bit confused as i dont think the garmin nuvi200 will find the map file on its own so do i have to run the complete garmin program straight from the card as it wont fit on the garmin as it doesnt have enough memory internally please help
cheers and thanks for looking

Dear Pietu,

Thanks alot for the reply. but the thing is I Have downloaded unlocked map but dont understand how to use it. there is only one IMG file that i have downloaded but on my nuvi 200 there are more than 1 img files.
do u want me to remove all of them and put this new file to internal memory of my nuvi200 or what?

i dont have sd card ///
from the posts above i get the idea that ... i have to make folders in my nuvi internal memory and then paste files in them .. is that true ? and how to put single file in all those folders?

Thanking in anticipation.

Your nuvi internal memory contain that \Garmin folder alredy, just copy your new unlocked map in \Garmin named GMAPPROM.IMG, but make backup first your all nuvi files...then replace old GMAPPROM.IMG

If you use several maps map names can be
[X]:\Garmin\GMAPPROM.IMG
[X]:\Garmin\GMAPPROM1.IMG
[X]:\Garmin\GMAPSUPP.IMG

nuvi 200 internal memory is not big (512 MB) ?, so I recommend you purchase eg 2GB or 4GB SD card, they are not expensive
then you can use full US map and mexico and canada too if you want
